Color Scheme Celebrates Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary with 1974 Debut Look
Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has unveiled its latest addition to the BABY-G shock-resistant watches lineup, introducing the BGD-565KT featuring the beloved character HELLO KITTY from Sanrio Co., Ltd.
This unique timepiece commemorates both the 50th anniversary of HELLO KITTY and the 30th anniversary of BABY-G. The collaborative watch is based on the BGD-565, inheriting the design elements of the inaugural BABY-G model. Adopting the white, red, and blue color scheme reminiscent of HELLO KITTY’s debut designs in 1974, the new watch incorporates red and blue band rings to enhance the overall white base tone.
Crafted with bio-based resin, the band showcases printed faces of the delightful animated character from the 1970s — HELLO KITTY laughing, winking, and expressing surprise. When the backlight is activated, her eyes, nose, and whiskers emerge on the watch LCD, complemented by the ribbon design on the dial, forming the complete HELLO KITTY face.
In celebration of HELLO KITTY’s 50th anniversary, the watch boasts a total of 50 detailed elements, showcasing various facets of the iconic character. The collaboration model is presented in special packaging that includes a cloth pouch inspired by the watch design.
Embodying the original aesthetic of this endearing Sanrio character, the BABY-G BGD-565KT radiates a retro charm, paying homage to the timeless design legacy of HELLO KITTY.
