In the latest release of the renowned BR 03 diver series, Bell & Ross introduces the BR 03-92 Diver Black & Green Bronze, featuring a striking combination of a bronze case and a vibrant green dial.
The exploration of the deep sea demands advanced technical equipment, and the use of bronze in watchmaking is deeply rooted in the history of such innovations. Known for its durability, bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, has been associated with technical advancements since its discovery between 3000 and 1000 BCE. While bronze made sporadic appearances in military watches in the 1930s and 1940s, its significant resurgence in watchmaking began in the late 1970s, experiencing a golden age over the past fifteen years.
Bell & Ross, renowned for its expertise in nautical matters since 1997, has continuously demonstrated its depth of knowledge in the field. The Maison’s journey began with the Hydromax, its first diving watch, setting a world record for waterproofness to an impressive 11,100 meters. Over the years, subsequent models, such as the BR 02 collection, have showcased technical innovations and a distinctive aesthetic, combining the functionality of fighter plane dashboard instruments with the signature “rounded square” case.
In 2018, Bell & Ross introduced a bronze variation, celebrating the material’s robustness and the unique patina it develops over time. The newly unveiled BR 03-92 Diver Black & Green Bronze continues this tradition, exuding a neo-retro look with a captivating green dial that adds a naturalist dimension to the instrument for divers.
The watch features a complex four-part screw assembly for the case and a solid bronze unidirectional rotating bezel graduated to 60 minutes. The bronze used in the BR 03-92 Diver Black & Green Bronze is CuSn8, composed of 92% copper and 8% tin, visually reminiscent of classic fittings on sailing boats.
Embracing the evolving personality of bronze, wearers can anticipate changes in appearance, allowing the watch to develop brown or green reflections or be polished to a golden shine. The iconic diver’s helmet, traditionally made of bronze, is engraved on the back of BR 03-92 Diver watches in hypoallergenic stainless steel.
Certified for diving according to international standard ISO-6425, the BR 03-92 Diver Black & Green Bronze meets the rigorous requirements for a professional diver’s tool. The watch is waterproof to 300 meters, housing a mechanical self-winding BR-CAL.302 movement with a 54-hour power reserve.
In a limited edition of 999 pieces, this elegant diver seamlessly combines Bell & Ross’s signature design elements with the unique allure of bronze, ensuring each piece tells a distinctive story through its evolving patina.
