Introducing the Latest Presage Design Series: Embracing Japan’s Timeless Elegance
Unveiling a new chapter in its prestigious Presage collection, Seiko seamlessly merges Japanese artistry with its renowned mechanical watchmaking expertise. The Classic Series, making its debut, draws inspiration from Japan’s rich cultural heritage, capturing the essence of its traditional crafts in five exquisite creations.
At the heart of this new series are gracefully curved dials, evoking the luxurious feel of natural textiles deeply rooted in Japanese culture. These dials, available in two configurations, intricately reflect ambient light, creating a captivating play of depth and beauty. Inspired by the softness of silk fabric, some designs showcase a lustrous sparkle, while others emulate the texture of raw silk yarn through a radial pattern.
Echoing Japan’s traditional color palette, each watch in the series exudes a warm luster, with dials available in four timeless hues: shiro-iro, sensaicha, araigaki, and sumi-iro. These colors pay homage to Japan’s rich history, from the unbleached natural fabric to the dark brownish-green popular during the Edo Period.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the series features a softly curved case and a multi-row bracelet inspired by 1970s design, ensuring both comfort and elegance on the wrist. The slim profile of the case, coupled with the dual-curved sapphire crystal, adds depth to the overall aesthetic, while the ergonomic bracelet design reduces contact points for a seamless fit.
Underneath the sophisticated exterior lies Seiko’s cutting-edge technology, with each watch powered by one of two newly introduced Seiko 6R movements. These movements boast an impressive 72-hour power reserve, ensuring reliable performance from Friday evening to Monday morning without the need for resetting. Whether featuring a classic three-hand configuration or an open-heart design, each movement’s gold-colored oscillating weight is proudly displayed through an exhibition case back.
Scheduled for release in June 2024, all five watches will be available at select Seiko Retail partners nationwide, inviting enthusiasts to experience the timeless beauty and craftsmanship of Japanese design.
