SUPERIOR PRECISION, TITANIUM BUILD
A quality field watch prioritizes utility—melding functionality, resilience, and reliability to ensure precise performance. But an exceptional field watch? That’s a watch that not only performs diligently but also looks stunning on the wrist.
Timex and The James Brand have teamed up again, this time with a more refined take on traditional field watch design. Introducing the limited-edition Timex x James Brand GMT, capped at just 1,000 pieces. This watch diverges from the typical rugged field watch silhouette, presenting a sophisticated 41mm barrel-shaped case. Crafted from durable titanium, it remains lightweight and comfortable.
At the heart of this watch is the 9075 Miyota premium automatic “true” GMT movement. This allows independent adjustment of both the prominent yellow GMT hand and the main hour hand, enabling the tracking of multiple time zones. With the GMT index on both the reflector ring and the unidirectional rotating top ring, this watch can track a third time zone. The top ring also features a subtle grey and black color contrast—with grey indicating nighttime hours and black for daylight hours—highlighted by the TJB logo’s degree symbol in luminescent yellow at the 24th hour.
Designed for the unpredictability of travel, the Timex x James Brand GMT includes quick-release spring bars for easy strap changes on the go. It comes with two versatile strap options: a titanium bracelet with a butterfly closure and a perforated resin strap with a titanium buckle. Moreover, this watch is water-resistant up to 200 meters, capable of withstanding water pressures of up to 20 atmospheres.
The black leveled-down dial features tapered hands and applied indices with Super-LumiNova® in-fill for enhanced readability, complemented by a date window at 3 o’clock. All of this is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating for maximum clarity.
Turn the watch over, and you’ll find a screw-down caseback engraved with the edition number and a TJB-branded sapphire crystal exhibition window, showcasing the intricate 24-jewel automatic movement. The screw-down crown, adorned with the same degree symbol as on the bezel, ensures the case remains impervious to dirt, dust, and moisture.
Overall, the Timex x James Brand GMT is a robust, reliable, and undeniably beautiful watch. But it’s more than just a timepiece—it’s a statement of intent and a reminder to stay present. As Ryan Coulter, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of The James Brand, states: “Any ability to get people to use their phone less is a success for us.” So, next time you reach for your phone to check the time, remember: you’ve got the answer on your wrist.
