Oris has released its Sustainability Report for 2024, marking a year of notable advancements in its mission to bring “Change for the Better.” This report, the third annual edition, outlines the company’s efforts to meet the ambitious targets set in the Oris Emissions Reduction Programme. In 2023, Oris successfully reduced its global carbon emissions by 16.5% year-on-year, surpassing the annual target of 10%. Over the past two years, the company has achieved a total reduction of 23% compared to its 2019 baseline, putting it ahead of the three-year target of 27.1%.
Ongoing Initiatives and Achievements
The report highlights various initiatives undertaken by Oris to minimize its environmental impact. These include reducing flights, collaborating with sustainable logistics partners, switching to electric vehicles, and introducing a new, radically sustainable watch packaging solution. This new packaging has nearly 50% less environmental impact compared to its predecessor, exemplifying the real changes Oris is implementing.
Oris has also expanded its collaborative efforts on social and environmental projects, working with organizations like France’s Ligue de Football Professionnel, Marylebone Cricket Club, and the New York Yankees. Additionally, the company continues to support UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Yusra Mardini and her foundation, focusing on combating the global issue of displacement.
Commitment to Sustainability
Oris remains committed to its sustainability goals, working with independent climate experts from ClimatePartner to accurately calculate its carbon emissions and implement necessary changes. As the company enters the third and final year of the first phase of the Oris Emissions Reductions Programme, it remains on track to meet its 27.1% total carbon emissions reduction target.
“We’re ahead of target, but we’re not slowing down,” said Rolf Studer, Co-CEO of Oris. “As an independent company making luxury mechanical watches for global citizens, we believe it’s our responsibility to unite people around change. It’s only together that we can bring Change for the Better.”
