To celebrate Sincere Fine Watches‘ 70th Anniversary, Czapek & Cie has introduced a highly exclusive timepiece, the Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. Limited to just 38 pieces, this model marks the first time Czapek has incorporated a mirrored silicon wafer dial and a bimetallic bracelet into their designs. This special edition is a testament to the enduring partnership between the Swiss independent watchmaker and Sincere Fine Watches, combining high-end mechanics with artistic creativity.
A Unique Commemoration of Sincere’s Platinum Jubilee
In celebration of Sincere Fine Watches’ 70 years, Czapek & Cie has created a watch that perfectly encapsulates this milestone. The Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition features a mirrored dial crafted from a single silicon wafer, coated with a fine layer of platinum to enhance its reflective quality. This is the first time Czapek has employed such an innovative material for its dial, setting the stage for a truly unique visual experience. The dial represents more than just aesthetics; it’s symbolic, reflecting the passage of time over the last 70 years and the boundless potential of the future.
According to Mr. Ong Ban, CEO of Sincere Watch Limited, the mirrored dial was proposed for its “bold and unique aesthetic,” as well as its deeper significance in celebrating Sincere’s journey through time.
Czapek’s First Bimetallic Bracelet and Case
Another first for Czapek, the Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition showcases a bimetallic bracelet and case, blending stainless steel with yellow gold. This combination adds a touch of refined contrast to the timepiece while emphasizing the deep relationship between Czapek & Cie and Sincere Fine Watches. The mix of metals not only enhances the sporty elegance of the Antarctique collection but also signifies the collaborative spirit between the two institutions.
Powered by the In-House Calibre SXH5
The Czapek & Cie Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is powered by the Calibre SXH5, a movement developed entirely in-house by Czapek & Cie. Originally launched in May 2020, this movement showcases seven skeletonized bridges, a design inspired by traditional pocket watch calibres from the 19th century. The free-sprung balance and 950 platinum micro-rotor, made from recycled materials, reflect Czapek’s blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.
The finishing on the Calibre SXH5 is particularly noteworthy, blending hand-beveled edges with modern laser engraving. This contrast of textures and surfaces allows the movement to play with light and shadow, making it as visually captivating as it is technically advanced. The commemorative logo of Sincere’s 70th anniversary is displayed on the caseback, underscoring the special nature of this collaboration.
A Bold Expression of Art and Innovation
Czapek & Cie’s Antarctique S Mirrored Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is a perfect expression of both brands’ dedication to innovation and excellence. The striking mirrored dial, created in collaboration with MD’Art, complements the bold aesthetic of the timepiece. Czapek’s use of a silicon wafer—a material typically associated with microelectronics—reaffirms the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking.
