A. Lange & Söhne opens boutique in Paris

The esteemed shopping boulevard Rue de la Paix is set to host another distinguished presence: A. Lange & Söhne, opening its doors in November 2023, warmly invites aficionados of Saxon fine watchmaking to its new boutique in Paris. Nestled in close proximity to the iconic Place Vendôme, the location beckons patrons to explore meticulously crafted timepieces and immerse themselves in the captivating history of the manufacture.

A. Lange & Söhne expands its footprint in the French market with an exclusive boutique on Rue de la Paix, a renowned thoroughfare in the heart of Paris. Whether spontaneously dropping in or scheduling an appointment, clients can receive expert and personalized guidance in selecting their desired model, all within a serene atmosphere and opulent surroundings. To provide a comprehensive glimpse of the collection, the boutique showcases a wide array of timepieces, including limited editions and boutique-exclusive models.

The two-story space is designed to emulate a modern lounge, offering an authentic and holistic brand experience. Marked by transparency and clarity in interior architecture, the design pays homage to the passion for perfection and elegance inherent in A. Lange & Söhne watches. Rooms intersecting at right angles unveil captivating perspectives, creating an optimal setting for presenting timepieces and conducting advisory consultations.

A standout feature is the “Experience Library,” offering insights into A. Lange & Söhne’s history through a curated collection of exhibits. Additionally, a comprehensive timeline guides visitors through the manufacture’s eventful history, marked by numerous innovative developments. The “Wall of Parts,” a wall-filling installation showcasing hand-finished movement parts, illustrates the brand’s commitment to technical perfection and the highest level of craftsmanship. The visitor experience concludes in a lounge with its own bar.

Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of Lange, views the new boutique as a significant milestone for the company’s overall sales concept, stating, “The boutique on Rue de la Paix allows us to establish direct contact with our French clients and respond to their individual needs. With this new location, we are showing our appreciation for an ever-growing community of collectors in France. It is also especially significant because the historical roots of our manufacture are closely linked to the French capital.”

Before founding his workshop in Glashütte in 1845, Dresden watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange traveled to France in 1837, the hub of precision watchmaking at the time. Spending four years in Paris as the head of Joseph Thaddäus Winnerl’s workshop, an acclaimed chronometer manufacturer, Lange honed his skills as a watchmaker with renowned Parisian craftsmen. In 1900, A. Lange & Söhne’s Centennial Tourbillon No. 41000 made waves at the Paris International Exposition, inspiring the development of the TOURBILLON “Pour le Mérite” after the brand’s revival in 1990 by Walter Lange and Günter Blümlein.
