The Subtle Elegance of the Baume & Mercier Baumatic Clifton Collection

The Baume & Mercier Baumatic Clifton Collection welcomes two exquisite new timepieces. These refined versions embody the essence of the brand, emphasizing aesthetic restraint, understated luxury, a profound appreciation for sleek design, and the technical excellence of a dependable, high-performance watch suitable for all occasions.

A refined design with sophisticated finishes

Baume & Mercier’s Clifton Collection exemplifies the art of versatility, effortlessly spanning from casual to opulent styles. In this vein, the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase M0A10736 and the Clifton Baumatic M0A10713 make their debut in a luxurious rendition. The former is presented in a satin-polished rose gold case (750/1000), while the latter combines steel with satin-polished rose gold (750/1000) accents. Both models feature gold-plated indexes and hands, along with meticulously crafted finishes. The Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase, originally 42mm in size, now debuts in a redesigned 39mm case diameter, offering an ideal size for every wrist.

Underneath their refined exteriors, both models house a self-winding Baumatic in-house movement. The movement’s adornments reveal circular-grained bridges, a baseplate with sandblasted and snailed finishes, and an open-worked gold-plated oscillating weight embellished with snail-patterned “Côtes de Genève.” The Clifton Baumatic M0A10713 boasts an elegantly subtle dial with a rich chocolate hue, accentuated by nuanced undertones and a graduated effect that showcases the brand’s meticulous mastery of color and light. This attention to detail extends to the strap, featuring brown alligator leather for the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase M0A10736 and patinated brown calfskin for the Clifton Baumatic M0A10713. From a technical standpoint, the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moon Phase M0A10736 showcases a captivating complication that tracks the lunar phases.

Embodying discreet luxury

The Clifton Baumatic, built on a foundation of watchmaking expertise, seamlessly adapts to every style and occasion. It embodies the essence of traditional luxury watchmaking, a fundamental aspect of Baume & Mercier’s identity since its inception. The Maison’s designers and watchmakers are dedicated to creating timeless and elegant timepieces. They meticulously attend to the quality of materials, fine-tuning textures and hues by carefully harmonizing and diversifying shapes, surfaces, and color palettes. They meticulously source the finest components, elevate the finishing touches, and painstakingly assemble each watch at our Les Brenets manufacture. This delicate equilibrium between discipline and artistic freedom, a legacy passed down from watchmaker William Baume and aesthete Paul Mercier, has endured for nearly two centuries. It is a testament to their mastery of design and a profound appreciation for beauty. At Baume & Mercier, time is meant to be cherished within a refined and streamlined case.

The Baumatic movement, committed to performance

These two new timepieces continue the tradition of watchmaking excellence, showcasing the self-winding Baumatic Manufacture movement. Crafted with the wearer’s convenience in mind, this Swiss caliber boasts exceptional reliability, performance, and comfort. It underwent rigorous testing to demonstrate its robustness and its ability to withstand everyday magnetic fields of up to 1,500 Gauss. With impressive precision, ranging from -4 to +6 seconds per day (for models equipped with COSC-certified movements) and a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it delivers remarkable autonomy with a five-day (120-hour) power reserve. Furthermore, it possesses a water resistance of up to 5 ATM (approximately 50 meters), enhancing its technical prowess.

Similar to all Baumatic models, its components come with an extended warranty of 6 years, in addition to the standard two years of international warranty. To activate this guarantee, all you need to do is register the timepiece on the Baume & Mercier website within 60 days of your purchase.

BAUME & MERCIER CLIFTON BAUMATIC DATE AND MOON PHASE – M0A10736

The circular case, measuring 39 mm in diameter and 12.6 mm in thickness, is meticulously fashioned from satin-polished rose gold (750/1000). It is elegantly adorned with a rose gold crown (750/1000). The case is shielded by a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal, thoughtfully treated on both sides with an anti-glare coating. Secured by four screws, the sapphire crystal case back can be engraved upon request.

The off-white dial of this exquisite timepiece gracefully displays the hour, minute, second, date, and moon phase. It features finely-grained texture and is adorned with faceted, riveted indexes in a slightly elongated trapezoidal shape. Atop the dial, you’ll find gold-plated alpha-shaped hands and a gold-plated counter hand. The calendar and moon phase indicators have undergone a redesign. The date is now situated within a finely diamond-ground, snailed bezel, echoing the signature roundness of the collection. This bezel complements the polished gold-plated moon phase disc, adorned with stars set against a black backdrop.

Powering this elegant watch is the self-winding Baumatic Manufacture movement BM14-1975 AC1. The watch is fitted with a brown alligator strap featuring square scales in a tone-on-tone pattern and burgundy stitching on the top, along with bar tacks near the buckle. This supple strap is interchangeable and can be switched without the need for tools, thanks to the reliable curved spring bar system. It fastens securely with a satin-polished rose gold (750/1000) pin buckle.

“CHOCOLATE” BAUME & MERCIER CLIFTON BAUMATIC – M0A10713

The round case of this watch comes in a 40 mm diameter with a thickness of 11.3 mm. Crafted from steel and steel topped with satin-polished rose gold (750/1000), it showcases a gold-plated PVD steel crown, creating a captivating contrast that adds character and depth to its design. The case is safeguarded by a scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal, thoughtfully treated on both sides with an anti-glare coating. Secured by four screws, the sapphire crystal case back offers the option for personalized engraving.

The visual allure of this timepiece is further heightened by its luminous dial in a rich chocolate hue, featuring white crosshairs in the center. The dial’s intricate play of reflections and graduated tones, transitioning from lighter in the center to darker along the edges, underscores the meticulous attention to color that Baume & Mercier has long been renowned for.

Harmoniously arranged on the dial are the hours, minutes, seconds, date, and certified COSC chronometer indications. They elegantly align with the slightly elongated gold-tone trapezoidal indexes, which are riveted and coordinate seamlessly with the gold-plated, faceted alpha-shaped hands. An enlarged aperture at 3 o’clock displays the date.

Powering this timepiece with precision and reliability is the self-winding Baumatic Manufacture movement BM13-1975A COSC. The patinated brown calfskin strap, which can be effortlessly detached and reattached without the need for tools, thanks to the reliable curved spring bar system, adds a touch of sophistication. The triple folding buckle is meticulously crafted in stainless steel and features security push-pieces.

With these two new Clifton Baumatic watches, Baume & Mercier reaffirms its commitment to both aesthetics and quality. These luxurious creations epitomize the brand’s affiliation with the luxury realm and its dedication to authenticity. They convey refinement through a distinctive blend of stylistic purity and restraint, while also showcasing impeccable technical expertise.
