Bell & Ross introduces a new dimension in timekeeping with the BR-03 Astro, a watch that visualizes planetary motion within a 41mm case. The latest addition to the BR-03 collection, the BR-03 Astro, takes this concept further, introducing a timepiece that visualizes planetary motion within its 41mm case. Limited to 999 pieces, the BR-03 Astro offers a distinctive interpretation of timekeeping through an orbital display featuring Earth, the Moon, and Mars.
A Dial Inspired by Space Exploration

The BR-03 Astro’s design draws inspiration from the Cupola, the observation dome of the International Space Station (ISS). Bell & Ross co-founder and creative director Bruno Belamich explains:
“The Cupola inspired this watch, which acts as a kind of porthole opening onto the planets. I imagined Earth seen from space in symbolic alignment with the Moon and Mars. The magic of this watch lies in its display—not as a technical interpretation of an instrument watch but, for once, in an imaginative dimension.”
The dial features a blue aventurine backdrop, evoking the vastness of space. At its center, a recessed Earth representation is embedded within a hollowed-out sapphire crystal, providing a three-dimensional effect. The dial design balances aesthetic storytelling with precise execution, requiring careful weight calculations for the hands and planetary representations.
Reimagining Time Display with an Orbital System

Departing from traditional time indicators, the BR-03 Astro features a unique captive orbital display, setting it apart from conventional astronomical watch designs:
- The Moon indicates the minutes, crafted from laser-engraved metal to showcase crater details.
- Mars represents the hours, depicted on a transparent plate to create a “mysterious” floating effect.
- A small satellite acts as the seconds indicator, completing a full orbit around Earth every 60 seconds.
This dynamic presentation transforms time reading into an astronomical experience, reinforcing the watch’s cosmic inspiration.
High-Performance Materials and Engineering
The BR-03 Astro is constructed from black ceramic, a material known for its scratch resistance and lightweight properties. The case measures 41mm in diameter and 11.5mm in thickness, ensuring a balanced wrist presence.
- Movement: BR-CAL.327 self-winding mechanical movement with a 54-hour power reserve.
- Water Resistance: 100 meters.
- Crystal: Sapphire with anti-reflective treatment, sculpted to enhance the Earth relief effect.
- Strap: Black rubber and synthetic fabric, secured with a black PVD-coated steel pin buckle.
This combination of materials and engineering underscores Bell & Ross’s commitment to functionality, durability, and contemporary aesthetics.
Limited Edition with a Narrative Approach
With only 999 pieces available, the BR-03 Astro merges horological precision with an artistic interpretation of planetary motion, offering a distinctive perspective on timekeeping. While Bell & Ross is known for professional aviation watches, this release introduces a conceptual and imaginative approach, appealing to both watch enthusiasts and space exploration admirers.
