Bell & Ross BR03 Diver Tara

The BR 03-92 DIVER TARA watch, a product of the collaboration between Bell & Ross and the Tara Océan Foundation, epitomizes the partnership’s purpose. Bell & Ross has engineered a professional-grade diver’s timepiece to cater to the demands of the crew aboard the oceanographic research schooner Tara, who persistently carry out scientific missions in even the most challenging conditions. Welcome aboard!

THE TARA OCEAN FOUNDATION

The Tara Ocean Foundation, the first public interest foundation in France dedicated to the Ocean, is driven by two primary objectives: exploring the Ocean to gain deeper insights and disseminating scientific knowledge about the Ocean to raise public awareness. Over the course of two decades, the Foundation has actively supported groundbreaking Ocean research in collaboration with world-renowned research institutions, focusing on marine biodiversity, climate change impacts, and pollution mitigation.

In response to the pressing need for collective responsibility in safeguarding the Ocean, the Foundation engages the public in Ocean awareness, educates future generations, promotes international cooperation, and mobilizes policymakers. With its Special Observer Status at the United Nations, the Foundation plays a pivotal role in vital decisions concerning the Ocean. Their commitment to studying and preserving the Ocean reflects a commitment to the overall health of our planet and future generations.

A TIMEPIECE THAT UNITES CREWS

Bell & Ross, known for designing action-ready timepieces, joins hands with the Tara Océan Foundation by taking tangible action on board the schooner Tara. The Diver watch has won the approval of the entire crew due to its clarity and reliability. These experienced scientists and sailors frequently confront challenging conditions, pushing the boundaries of the extreme. To tackle their substantial responsibilities, they require precise and dependable tools. Bell & Ross, with its 30 years of experience equipping remarkable pilots and divers whose missions hinge on their instruments, is a provider for explorers and elite units, tailoring each timepiece to meet the rigorous standards of its intended professional use. This is why the creation of the BR 03 Diver Tara, celebrating the inaugural year of their partnership, was deemed essential. Notably, a portion of the profits from the sale of each watch goes to the Foundation.

A PROFESSIONAL DIVER’S TIMEPIECE

In harmony with the Tara Océan Foundation’s mission, Bell & Ross has developed an instrument watch that aligns with the tasks undertaken by the schooner Tara’s scientists. Like a Bell & Ross watch, precision is paramount, and there’s no room for superfluous features. Part of the BR 03 Diver professional diver’s watch series, this limited edition of 999 pieces is water-resistant up to 300 meters. It boasts a 42mm matte blue ceramic case and includes a unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel in blue and orange, graduated for professional divers’ needs. This reliable timepiece is powered by the BR-CAL 302 self-winding mechanical movement, displaying hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. The deep blue metal dial is designed for optimal readability on land, at sea, and underwater, with applied indexes and white graduations featuring superb luminescence in the dark, thanks to Super-LumiNova® coating. The seconds hand is accentuated with orange for quick and easy identification. The comfortable strap, made of blue woven rubber lined with a highly resilient technical material, fastens with a steel pin buckle coated in blue PVD.

“A key part of our brand’s DNA has always been to equip professionals with tools capable of adjusting to their mission and to push the limits to the extreme, which is why it seemed a natural fit to join forces with the Tara Océan Foundation”, emphasises Carlos-A Rosillo, President and Co-Founder of Bell & Ross. “The watch that started our collaboration with Bell & Ross was the Diver model, designed to be used at sea and even underwater. The Tara teams on board the schooner, and even at the North Pole in the near future, will be required to dive on a regular basis. When you’re underwater, time can be vital information”, echoes Romain Troublé, General Director of the Tara Ocean Foundation.

While Bell & Ross has a strong connection to the aeronautical world, they have a history of designing instruments for professionals working in various environments, including fighter pilots, special forces, F1 drivers, and extraordinary divers. Their involvement in oceanic discoveries began early on, as they provided cutting-edge instruments to professionals in marine exploration. Bell & Ross, passionate about the marine world, has consistently crafted exceptional tools, with the Hydromax, certified to 11,100 meters in 1997, and the BR 02, a professional diving watch water-resistant to 1,000 meters in 2007. In 2017, the BR 03-92 DIVER was introduced, designed for professionals who demand reliability. Now, thanks to their collaboration with the Tara Océan Foundation, marine exploration and scientific research professionals will also have the privilege of wearing a Bell & Ross Diver on their wrist. This maritime partnership completes Bell & Ross’s engagement in three distinct realms: the sky with La Patrouille, the land with Alpine, and now the sea with the Fondation Tara Ocean. Bell & Ross continues to provide excellence and precision to professionals across these domains.
