New Bell & Ross Br 03 41mm

The subtle metamorphosis of an icon

Creative and ingenious modifications serve as a wellspring of inspiration. This concept encapsulates the core of Bell & Ross’ latest rendition of its iconic BR03 timepiece. The BR03 retains its familiar elements but undergoes a sophisticated transformation, elevating it to new heights.

The BR 03, an icon in Bell & Ross’ history

The BR 03 collection encapsulates the identity and style of Bell & Ross and has served as a hallmark since 2006. Since its inception in 1994, the brand has consistently set the standard in the world of aviation watches, meeting the exacting requirements of professional users in extreme conditions. Drawing inspiration from aircraft cockpits and aeronautical instrumentation, the design principles ensure top-tier performance. Every Bell & Ross timepiece guarantees legibility, functionality, precision, and reliability.

The BR 03, a pivotal milestone in Bell & Ross’ history, solidifies the brand’s reputation as a leader in professional aviation watches. It is renowned for embodying a sense of refinement and sophistication. Today, it surprises us by revisiting its globally recognizable case design, known for its “circle within a square, held by four screws,” reminiscent of cockpit clocks – a truly ingenious concept.

Here’s the timeline: The BR 01 made its debut in 2005 with a substantial 46 mm case. In 2006, the 42 mm model was introduced to great acclaim. In 2023, the BR03 continues to astonish us, this time with a 41 mm case and other remarkable features.

Same spirit, striking new proportions

In the realm of watchmaking design, each millimeter holds significant weight. Adjusting the size of a case, whether enlarging or reducing, is a consequential decision. Designers frequently lean towards beginning anew rather than modifying an iconic model. Bruno Belamich, Bell & Ross’ co-founder and Creative Director, who knows about impeccability, says: “With the new BR 03, we modified the proportions of the collection by respecting its canons. Our goal was to preserve the identity that has made the BR 03 so successful, while adapting it to the new times and maintaining its allure.”

The subtle reduction in the case dimensions, from 42 mm to 41 mm, strikes a delicate yet impactful balance. These changes are instantly noticeable to the eye and result in a transformed appearance and sensation of the watch. The alteration in the lug size, from 4.5 mm to 4 mm, contributes to this exciting and refreshed aesthetic rhythm.

Design and movement taken to a higher level

The BR 03’s evolution encompasses a slimmer rubber strap and a fresh automatic movement, the BR-CAL.302, extending the power reserve to 54 hours. This means that the watch can sit idle and still accurately display the correct time even after two days.

A wide-ranging and accomplished collection

The BR 03 collection is a blend of vibrant modernity and timeless elegance. The brand’s iconic models have now been equipped with the latest automatic BR-CAL.302 caliber and boast a water resistance of up to 100 meters. It introduces three models within Bell & Ross’ signature black case lineup: Black Matte, Phantom, and Heritage, each exuding a decidedly retro charm. Additionally, there are three versions in polished steel: Black Steel, Blue Steel, and Golden Heritage, featuring black, blue, and brown dials, respectively. The latter, in particular, surprises us with a new hue that channels a chic vintage essence, embracing the core of the Heritage concept.

A copper dial

The alluring copper dial of the BR 03 Copper is the result of a galvanization process, and it is enriched with intricately engraved black numerals and indexes, lending it added dimension. Complementing this design are the blue metallic hands, which offer a unique and captivating blend of retro aesthetics with a contemporary twist.

A military green dial

Finally, the BR 03 Military Ceramic unites a matte black ceramic case with a khaki dial. This robust timepiece boldly embraces its military-inspired identity, a theme that has been integral to Bell & Ross since its inception.

The brilliance of the past continues to inspire the present, as an iconic timepiece undergoes a refined evolution. Bell & Ross’ journey began in the cockpit of aircraft, driven by the aspiration to create watches directly influenced by aeronautical instruments. The brand consistently captivates us, maintaining its core principles while introducing subtle size reductions. The BR03 now features a new automatic movement, the BR-CAL.302 caliber, boasting a 54-hour power reserve. Within the BR03 collection, you’ll find three watches with black ceramic cases and three in polished steel. To expand the line, a Copper dial model and one in khaki-colored ceramic have been added. These watches, characterized by their style, functionality, and readability, reaffirm Bell & Ross’ expertise in the realm of professional watchmaking.
