TOKYO, November 28, 2023 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has officially disclosed its plans to release a limited edition of 2,000 VIRTUAL G-SHOCK NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on December 15. Depicting the G-SHOCK brand as cutting-edge, shock-resistant watches within a virtual realm, these NFTs mark a unique fusion of futuristic aesthetics and digital collectibles. Leading up to the sales launch, the distribution of G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS, starting on November 28, will provide holders with exclusive benefits, including advance purchasing privileges.
Initiated in September 2023, the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK project by Casio serves as a virtual hub for engaging with Gen Z and new users. The journey began with the distribution of G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS NFTs, granting free access to a vibrant community on Discord,*1 which witnessed a swift allocation of its initial release of 15,000 limited-edition NFTs within approximately six hours. The community’s enthusiasm has translated into various collaborative projects.

Come December 15, the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK NFTs will take center stage, showcasing futuristic shock-resistant G-SHOCK structures. With two distinct design patterns, the VGA-001 introduces a whimsical balloon concept, portraying a G-SHOCK adorned with colorful balloons dancing freely. In contrast, the VGA-002 embraces a leaf spring concept, illustrating a G-SHOCK with a futuristic shock-resistant structure utilizing the force of springs to absorb shocks powerfully.
Ahead of the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK NFTs sales launch, additional G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS NFTs will be distributed for free starting November 28, offering community engagement opportunities. Recognizing the positive reception of the initial launch, holders of G-SHOCK CREATOR PASS NFTs will be given priority access to purchase VIRTUAL G-SHOCK NFTs during the advance sales period.
