Triple Sensor and Smartphone Link Deliver Improved Functionality
Norderstedt, September 28, 2023 — Casio Europe GmbH has officially unveiled its latest addition to the renowned family of G-SHOCK shock-resistant watches. The all-new MUDMASTER GWG-B1000, designed to withstand dust and mud, boasts an exterior crafted from sturdy metal, exemplifying a robust and commanding aesthetic.
Since its inception in 1983, G-SHOCK has consistently evolved in terms of functionality, structure, and design to maintain its exceptional shock resistance. Among the impressive array of G-SHOCK timepieces, the Master of G series, tailored for extreme conditions, has garnered widespread acclaim for its unparalleled durability.
The GWG-B1000, now joining the esteemed Master of G collection, stands as a formidable addition. Engineered to thrive in sandy and dirty environments, this MUDMASTER model sports a resilient metal shell that seamlessly marries G-SHOCK’s renowned shock resistance with a rugged, captivating multi-dimensional form.
Critical to its durability, protective elements at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions safeguard the watch’s glass, traditionally the most susceptible to shocks. These components have been treated with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating, elevating their resistance to abrasion. The meticulous production process begins with the forging of bezel-shaped components, ultimately resulting in these intricate metal structures. The front button guard’s intricate molded design is realized through a distinct technique known as metal injection molding (MIM).
For users engaged in land-based missions, this timepiece offers a suite of essential functions. Notably, it marks the first G-SHOCK to incorporate a triple sensor, measuring compass bearing, altitude/barometric pressure, and temperature. Additionally, it supports solar charging, radio wave reception, and seamless smartphone connectivity. When synchronized with a smartphone, a dedicated app enhances user experience by facilitating convenient access to various features, including the Location Indicator, which aligns the inset dial indicator hand with a location recorded on the app’s map, and the Mission Log, which diligently logs activity history.
Casio remains committed to advancing timepiece technology, consistently pushing the boundaries of shock resistance and original Casio functionality to cater to the needs of professionals who constantly embrace the extreme.
