Commemorating the launch at Dubai Watch Week 2023, De Bethune, based in Auberson, introduces the DBD Evergreen, signifying the culmination of an ongoing pursuit where beauty converges with virtuosity. The simplicity of the piece hints at the intricacy of its craftsmanship, staying true to the essence of De Bethune’s philosophy.
The DBD Evergreen features a manually wound triple linear calendar with digital time display, an evolution from the first DBD launched in 2006—a timepiece that marked a turning point in horology. Crafted in polished grade 5 titanium, the lightweight case with ogive-shaped lugs and a crown at 12 o’clock showcases a modern and futuristic character. The green dial, adorned with Côtes de Genève, offers a subtle interplay of light in harmony with the wearer’s movements.
Inspired by 18th-century horology, a hallmark of De Bethune, the DBD Evergreen showcases its commitment to honoring the art of watchmaking. The art-deco-style apertures reveal five linearly displayed discs for day, date, and month at twelve o’clock, while jumping hours and scrolling minutes grace the lower half of the dial.
A significant innovation of the DBD Evergreen is the introduction of the Geneva Stripes motif on the dial, a world-first in 2006. The double anti-reflective treatment on the sapphire crystal unveils the exceptional craftsmanship powered by the mechanical caliber DB2044. This manually wound manufacture movement, vibrating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, features the latest titanium balance wheel with gray gold inserts and the triple parachute system.
