Endeavour Chronograph: H. Moser & Cie. and Massena LAB Unite to Honor Watchmaking Heritage

H. Moser & Cie. has launched the Endeavour Chronograph, a highly anticipated limited edition created in collaboration with Massena LAB. This release, limited to only 100 pieces, showcases a seamless blend of vintage and modern aesthetics, honoring both H. Moser & Cie.’s heritage and Massena LAB’s horological expertise. A tribute to the brand’s history, the Endeavour Chronograph celebrates the classic chronograph style of the 1940s with a contemporary twist.

A Unique Collaborative Tribute

The Endeavour Chronograph reflects the innovative spirit that has defined H. Moser & Cie. since its inception in 1828. Inspired by historic chronographs from the brand’s archives, the timepiece combines classic aesthetics with contemporary craftsmanship, embodying H. Moser & Cie’s dedication to timeless elegance. The collaboration with Massena LAB brings a fresh perspective, led by William Massena’s passion for vintage watchmaking.

Massena explains the inspiration: “What intrigued me most was the tension between the maximalist vintage aesthetic of the past and the radical minimalism at the heart of modern-day H. Moser & Cie.”

Technical Excellence and Vintage Details

The Endeavour Chronograph is encased in stainless steel with a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 13.3 mm. Notably, the Funky Blue fumé dial with a sunburst pattern is a hallmark of H. Moser & Cie., bringing both elegance and legibility. The watch’s dial features leaf-shaped hour and minute hands, filled with Super-LumiNova for readability in low light. A tachymetric scale encircles the dial, recalling the scientific tools used by explorers in the 20th century.

Key specifications include:

  • Case: Solid steel, 41 mm diameter, sapphire crystal case-back
  • Dial: Funky Blue fumé with Super-LumiNova on hands, tachymetric scale, and sub-dial elements
  • Movement: HMC 220 automatic calibre with Dubois Dépraz chronograph module, 3-day power reserve, and oscillating weight engraved with H. Moser’s hallmark

The Movement Behind the Endeavour Chronograph

At the heart of this timepiece lies the HMC 220 automatic Manufacture calibre, featuring a bi-directional pawl winding system and the Original Straumann® hairspring. The movement is enhanced by a chronograph module, which provides a central chronograph seconds hand, a 45-minute counter, and a small seconds display. The intricate components, including 51 jewels, are visible through the transparent case-back, allowing an intimate view of the meticulously decorated movement.

Design Harmony with the Kudu Leather Strap

Adding to the watch’s vintage appeal is a brown kudu leather strap, hand-stitched with white thread. This strap choice complements the understated elegance of the stainless-steel case and vibrant Funky Blue fumé dial, creating a versatile accessory suitable for both formal and casual settings.

Limited Availability and Exclusivity

With only 100 pieces available worldwide, the Endeavour Chronograph H. Moser x Massena LAB (Reference 1220-1200) is positioned as a collector’s piece, designed for horology enthusiasts who appreciate both vintage-inspired design and cutting-edge craftsmanship. This release underscores H. Moser & Cie.’s commitment to limited production and exclusivity.

Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie., encapsulates the significance of this collaboration: “The Endeavour Chronograph model is more than just a watch: It is a timeless declaration, a bridge between the past and present, and a marvellous illustration of the ability of both brands to push the limits of innovation ever further.”
