A unique Streamliner model
Maximilian Büsser and Edouard Meylan have teamed up once again, this time for the Only Watch charity auction aimed at raising funds for the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy. Together, they’ve crafted a unique masterpiece devoted to music, christened the H. Moser X MB&F Streamliner Pandamonium. It showcases a minute repeater complication featuring a miniature DJing panda, a distinctive hallmark of MB&F’s contributions to Only Watch.
At the core of the Streamliner’s case lies a bespoke three-dimensional movement created exclusively for the Only Watch event and not intended for any other models. The minute repeater mechanism, both sonically captivating and visually engaging, is visible through the brand-new Aquamarine fumé dial, which is devoid of logos and indices, echoing H. Moser & Cie.’s minimalist philosophy. The hours and minutes are indicated by subtle leaf-shaped hands at 2 o’clock.
This collaborative creation, the H. Moser X MB&F Streamliner Pandamonium, expertly blends the DNA of both MB&F and H. Moser & Cie., harmoniously punctuated with signature elements from each brand. With its unique and poetic sophistication, this timepiece embodies the pinnacle of technical excellence.
When Maximilian Büsser and Edouard Meylan, the heads of MB&F and H. Moser & Cie. respectively, combine their creative talents, it leads to remarkable innovation. As independent, family-sized Swiss companies, these two passionate entrepreneurs never do things halfway. Building on their previous successful collaboration, they’ve come together once more to support the fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy through Only Watch.
In this second collaboration, the two brands join forces to create a minute repeater. They position the intricate chime mechanism on the dial, allowing the passage of time to be audibly appreciated alongside the choreography of the hammers and gongs. This dynamic stage is further brought to life by the Aquamarine fumé dial, devoid of logos and indices, emphasizing H. Moser & Cie.’s minimalist ethos. The hours and minutes are elegantly presented with small leaf-shaped hands at 2 o’clock.
The H. Moser X MB&F Streamliner Pandamonium, as the name suggests, is inspired by the concept of Pandemonium, representing wild disorder or confusion. A miniature panda sculpture, a symbol of MB&F’s world, adorns the dial and adds a playful touch to this musical-themed creation. Made from white gold and meticulously handcrafted, this miniature DJ panda appears to be mixing music alongside the hammers, with turntables connected to the axis of the hammers.
The timepiece features a large suspended balance wheel taken from the Legacy Machine range, complemented by a double hairspring for enhanced precision. The steel frame, integrated bracelet, cushion-shaped case, and domed sapphire crystal are designed to maximize the resonance of the minute repeater mechanism. This design allows the chiming of hours, quarter-hours, and minutes by two gongs, with two hammers that move based on input from different feeler-spindles. The geometry of the case is thoughtfully crafted to enhance sound, leveraging the properties of steel to amplify its impact.
Driving this unique creation is the three-dimensional hand-wound HMC 906 calibre, partially skeletonized to reveal key components. To accommodate the movement from the top of the case, a removable bezel was created, allowing for larger case dimensions to enhance the sound.
The HMC 906 calibre operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour, with a minimum power reserve of 54 hours. It features modern finishes, including anthracite grey rhodium-plating on the bridges and the main plate, along with the renowned horizontal double Moser stripes.
In conclusion, Edouard Meylan emphasizes the successful fusion of expertise and DNA from both brands in the H. Moser X MB&F Streamliner Pandamonium model, which represents a one-off piece resulting from a unique development process. This extraordinary creation is designed to excel for a noble cause and is expected to generate excitement among collectors and haute horology enthusiasts. It will be a part of the international Only Watch event, with the auction scheduled for November 5th. Edouard Meylan and Max Büsser invite all music lovers to join in the excitement of this artistic performance.
