Hanhart Austrian Air Force AW169M Chronograph

Hanhart, in collaboration with the Austrian Air Force, has introduced a bespoke chronograph uniting heritage with cutting-edge functionality, tailor-made for airborne missions. Presenting the Hanhart Austrian Air Force AW169M Chronograph Limited Edition, a collection strictly limited to 50 pieces with a fluted bezel and 50 with a smooth bezel.

The dark green dial of this limited edition piece, adorned with the historic Hanhart logo, intricately weaves the captivating history of aviation with its contemporary evolution. Drawing attention is the portrayal of a propeller, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s “Helix Pteron” sketch, symbolizing progress and innovation in aviation, positioned on the lower part of the dial.

Named after the renowned Italian inventor and artist, Leonardo, this chronograph also pays homage to a leading Italian manufacturer of military helicopters, the AW169M, currently in service with the Austrian Armed Forces. Renowned for its performance and versatility, the AW169M is deemed indispensable for day and night missions.

The Austrian Air Force AW169M Chronograph Limited Edition boasts a 45mm diameter and is crafted as a single-pusher chronograph, allowing seamless control of all chronograph functions – start, stop, and zero setting – with just one pusher, with no option for restarting the chronograph hands after stopping.

The design seamlessly incorporates sub-dials for small seconds and a 30-minute counter, along with bold cathedral hands and Arabic numerals coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility, reminiscent of early precision timepieces of the German watch brand.

Underneath the screw-down stainless steel case back lies the high-quality automatic caliber ETA 7750, modified by La Joux-Perret, ensuring precise timekeeping. With water resistance of up to 10 ATM, this chronograph is designed to perform impeccably even in challenging conditions.

The Hanhart Austrian Air Force AW169M Chronograph Limited Edition is available for purchase at 2,940 Euros including 19% VAT on a leather strap, and at 3,140 Euros including 19% VAT on a steel bracelet.
