Hanhart Fly Navy Aerosphere

Introducing the Hanhart FLY NAVY Aerosphere: A Tribute to Naval Aviation

Hanhart, the Black Forest watch manufacturer, proudly presents the FLY NAVY Aerosphere, a new special edition limited to just 300 pieces. Divided into two versions of 150 pieces each, the MFG3 and MFG5, this watch embodies the perfect blend of precision, reliability, and maritime tradition, making it an essential companion for the challenges of naval aviation.

Designed for the Toughest Conditions

The FLY NAVY Aerosphere is crafted for the rigors of naval aviation, where conditions can be as unpredictable as the sea itself. From the Arctic’s icy expanse to the tropics’ humid jungles, and from the vast ocean to rugged coastal mountains, naval aviators face some of the most demanding environments. This watch is designed to be precise, reliable, and easy to read, day or night, ensuring navigational confidence without the need for additional aids. For over 110 years, the German Navy has valued precision and tradition, principles that have guided Hanhart since its founding in 1882.

A Deep Connection with Aviation

Hanhart’s association with aviation is storied and significant. Automatic pilot’s watches, essential in aviation, have to withstand extreme vibrations, temperature fluctuations, altitude changes, and weather conditions. This history of durability and precision continues with the FLY NAVY Aerosphere, designed to endure the direct impact of natural forces, whether flying low over a stormy sea or landing on a swaying deck. This limited edition watch is a testament to Hanhart’s commitment to producing reliable and precise timepieces for challenging situations.

Distinctive Maritime Details

The FLY NAVY Aerosphere pays homage to maritime heritage with unique design elements inspired by Greek mythology and naval insignias. The second hand features Poseidon’s trident, a symbol also found on the coat of arms of the MFG3 “Graf Zeppelin” naval aviation squadron. Each version of the watch comes with an individually selected coat of arms embossed on the screw-down case back—either the MFG3 or the MFG5. The navy blue dial and screw-in crown also display the naval aviator command logo, reinforcing the watch’s maritime identity.

The MFG3 coat of arms symbolizes naval aviators with a wing and anchor, and the five stars represent fidelity, courage, broad-mindedness, reliability, and endurance. The MFG5 coat of arms includes water, a sea eagle, an anchor, and a wing, signifying sovereignty over the airspace above the sea. These elements underscore the watch’s connection to naval aviation.

Outstanding Comfort and Robust Features

Available with a blue Hook Strap textile strap or a stainless steel strap, the FLY NAVY Aerosphere ensures optimal comfort and style for any wrist. This watch is not only suitable for a relaxed beach holiday but also robust enough for demanding naval missions. The rotating bezel with standard lettering, water resistance up to 30 ATM (300 meters), and a helium valve for deep diving highlight its suitability for aquatic adventures.

The watch’s case, made of brushed and polished stainless steel, features a ceramic bezel with Super-Luminova® filled numerals and markers for perfect legibility. The convex, internally anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the navy blue dial, while the screw-down crown and case back ensure durability and water resistance. Each watch is individually numbered, emphasizing its exclusivity.

Precision Movement

Powered by an automatic winding mechanism with a ball bearing, the FLY NAVY Aerosphere boasts a timekeeping accuracy regulated to 0 to +8 seconds per day. The movement, based on the Sellita SW200, operates at a frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz) and includes 26 jewels, offering a minimum power reserve of 38 hours. Functions include a stop second device, central stop second, and a date feature with quick correction.

A Legacy of Excellence

Hanhart’s legacy as a pioneer in wristwatch chronographs and stopwatches is evident in the FLY NAVY Aerosphere. Since 1882, Hanhart has been synonymous with precision, reliability, and technical innovation. This new special edition continues that tradition, combining impeccable craftsmanship with a distinctive design. Available at €1,490 on a textile strap and €1,690 on a steel bracelet, the FLY NAVY Aerosphere is a testament to Hanhart’s enduring commitment to excellence in watchmaking.
