Hautlence Vagabonde Tourbillon Series 3

HAUTLENCE seamlessly integrates cutting-edge materials into its avant-garde approach to watchmaking, exemplified by the Vagabonde Tourbillon Series 3. This timepiece not only showcases the brand’s unique interpretation of wandering hours but also features a flying tourbillon and a dial crafted from a sculpted superconductor material, courtesy of James “Black Badger” Thompson’s skilled craftsmanship.

Since its inception in 2004, HAUTLENCE has consistently led the charge in independent and unconventional watchmaking, challenging traditional norms and presenting innovative ways to display the passage of time. The Vagabonde Tourbillon Series 3 continues this legacy, reimagining hands-free time display with a space-age material and captivating contrasts.

The honeycomb pattern, a signature motif for HAUTLENCE since its early creations, takes on new significance in the Vagabonde Tourbillon Series 3, forming the structure of the base dial’s superconductor material. This material, more commonly associated with advanced scientific applications, becomes a medium for creative expression in the hands of HAUTLENCE.

The collaboration with James “Black Badger” Thompson results in a mesmerizing dial, where copper and hexagonal niobium filaments create a stunning honeycomb network. The superconductor’s unique physical properties, intended for particle accelerators, add a futuristic touch to the watch, reflecting HAUTLENCE’s commitment to artistic expression.

The dial’s three-dimensional structure is further enhanced by a ripple-like pattern, creating pronounced grooves that add depth and dynamism. The silvery-gray tone and subtle shimmer of the superconductor evoke constant motion, setting the stage for HAUTLENCE’s hands-free display of time.

The time display features three jumping hour satellites and a central minute disk, reinventing the traditional wandering hours concept. Crafted in transparent sapphire crystal with minute numerals in Globolight®, this captivating portrayal of time unfolds above the structured dial.

Encased in HAUTLENCE’s iconic TV-shaped case, the Vagabonde Tourbillon Series 3 exudes rugged elegance with its integrated rubber strap and bumpers for added robustness. The midnight blue PVD-coated steel case, complemented by contrasting white rubber elements, adds a touch of sophistication.

Powering the watch is the D30 automatic movement, visible through the sapphire display back. The bidirectional pawl winding mechanism ensures a minimum power reserve of 3 days, while the one-minute flying tourbillon, with a double hairspring in an open bar-shaped carriage, reflects the precision and craftsmanship synonymous with HAUTLENCE and its sister company, Precision Engineering AG.
