Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A by Samuel Ross

Art, creativity, and design form an ever-evolving narrative, an organic and cyclical process where Samuel Ross, a distinct generational artist, continues to nurture his creations. Dr. Samuel Ross’s creative thoughts are like living materials, constantly shaping, reshaping, and reimagining ideas, striving for precision, clarity, and choice while embracing SR_A’s signature industrial language.

Hublot, with a decade-long passion for art, consistently pushes boundaries in materials, fusion, and aesthetics. They collaborate with unconventional artists and designers to explore new creative perspectives in watchmaking. In 2020, Hublot and Ross initiated a three-year engineering journey resulting in the Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A by Samuel Ross. Much like living materials, Ross’s creativity continually evolves, transforming the watch case into a monochrome outfit in gray, complemented by three rubber straps in green, black, or white. This new iteration incorporates subtle yet insightful details.

What’s new? To emphasize its industrial aesthetic, Ross adorns all watch case components with shiny micro-blasted titanium, including a rough laser-engraved Hublot logo on the clasp. The crown is overmolded in gray rubber to enhance the overall monochrome look, while the tourbillon bridge takes on a neutral shade for seamless pairing with the smooth full rubber straps in black, white, or vivid green.

From sculpture to wearable wrist art, Samuel Ross’s artistic language melds seamlessly with Hublot’s watchmaking. Ross’s vision encapsulates materials in aerodynamic, simple, and striking shapes, inspired by nature’s sacred geometry to narrate 40 years of Hublot’s history. By contrasting hyper-technical elements with tradition and mixing rubber with manufactured metal, he achieves a harmonious balance between organic and industrial, driven by innovation.

Merging sacred and industrial influences, Ross employs a hexagonal honeycomb pattern that mimics nature’s governing design, adding functionality to the watch’s form. This watch, like Ross’s other creations, is designed for durability, ergonomics, and lightweight comfort, suitable for wristwear.

The Big Bang Tourbillon SR_A by Samuel Ross is powered by the precise 282-component Manufacture HUB6035 caliber, boasting a 72-hour power reserve while beating at 3 Hz. Similar to the initial release, this new iteration is limited to 50 pieces.
