Hublot’s Latest Innovation in Sustainable Watchmaking
Unveiled at the SIAR trade fair in Mexico City, the Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon embodies Hublot’s “Art of Fusion” philosophy. Limited to 35 pieces, this watch exemplifies a perfect blend of high-tech materials and eco-conscious design. Featuring a cactus fibre strap, titanium case, and frosted carbon bezel, the piece stands out for its bold, nature-inspired aesthetic and sustainable approach.
A Cactus Fibre Strap: Innovation Meets Sustainability
The highlight of this limited edition is its strap, made from Cactus Nopal – a plant indigenous to Mexico, known for its low water consumption and environmental resilience. This material choice is both innovative and symbolic, reflecting Hublot’s dedication to integrating sustainability into luxury watchmaking. The cactus fibre strap has been rigorously tested for strength and durability, ensuring it meets Hublot’s high standards.
High-Performance Titanium and Carbon Build
The titanium case and green frosted carbon bezel enhance the watch’s ultra-lightweight design while ensuring durability and scratch resistance. The tonneau-shaped case follows Hublot’s iconic Spirit of Big Bang design language, offering a modern and sporty aesthetic. With water resistance up to 10 ATM, this piece is ready for any adventure.
Inside the HUB4700 Calibre
At the heart of the Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon is Hublot’s HUB4700 calibre. This skeletonized chronograph movement operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), allowing precision to 1/10th of a second. Visible through both the dial and case-back, the movement features a 50-hour power reserve and a tricompax chronograph layout.
Hublot’s Legacy and Future Innovations
“Forty-five years ago, we disrupted traditional watchmaking with a gold case and a rubber strap. The Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon reconnects us to our roots, embracing innovation while respecting our heritage,” says Hublot CEO Julien Tornare.
