Jaeger-LeCoultre reinterprets Master Ulta Thin Power Reserve

The Master Ultra Thin collection embodies Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmaking philosophy, seamlessly blending timeless elegance with mechanical excellence to craft the ultimate dress watch for the contemporary connoisseur. In 2023, this collection sees the introduction of a fresh interpretation of the Master Ultra Thin Power Reserve. This updated timepiece features a subtly modernized case and dial design, showcasing a new gradient midnight blue sunray dial and a significantly enhanced power reserve.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has revamped its Calibre 938 to provide an impressive 70-hour power reserve, aligning with the Maison’s commitment to timekeeping precision and user convenience. The Manufacture consistently enhances its in-house calibers with advancing technology. The increased power reserve allows the watch to be set aside for an entire weekend and worn again on Monday without the need for winding or resetting.

This substantial extension of the power reserve is achieved without altering the calibre’s size, maintaining its 4.9mm thickness. Redesigning the mainspring barrel, incorporating silicon components for smoother energy transmission by reducing friction, and implementing other minor adjustments contribute to greater reliability.

The power reserve function, a Jaeger-LeCoultre signature complication introduced in 1948 with Calibre 481, remains a highlight. The Master Ultra Thin Power Reserve boasts a distinctive design with a power reserve display, date, and small seconds indicators – a testament to the technical expertise of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmakers.

The Master Ultra Thin Power Reserve undergoes a sophisticated aesthetic update, maintaining its elegant 39mm diameter and 8.95mm thickness. The case design is subtly modernized, featuring revised proportions and slimmer, elongated lugs for enhanced comfort on the wrist.

The refined dial architecture preserves symmetry and balance while enlarging sub-dials to improve legibility of the date, power reserve, and small seconds displays. Elongated applied hour markers, a polished and satin finish on Dauphine hands, and golden dots on the minutes track, matching the pink gold case, create aesthetic harmony against the gradient midnight blue sunray dial. Subtle matte texture on the sub-dials adds visual depth.

Completing the ensemble, the new Master Ultra Thin Power Reserve is presented on a navy-blue alligator strap, offering easy interchangeability with other straps and buckles for added versatility to this sophisticated, modern timepiece.
