New Polaris Geographic

Jaeger-LeCoultre Expands Polaris Collection for 2024

In 2024, Jaeger-LeCoultre enriches its Polaris collection with new features and colors. The Maison’s signature Geographic travel time complication debuts in this elegant, sporty line, alongside new dial colors for the Polaris Date and Polaris Perpetual Calendar models.

Polaris: The Fusion of Elegance and Contemporary Sportiness

Reviving the historic Polaris name in 2018, Jaeger-LeCoultre redefined the modern sporty-elegant watch with a series designed for everyday adventures. Balancing the practical functions and robust capabilities of a sports watch with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s timeless aesthetic, the Polaris collection pays homage to the brand’s 1960s diving watches.

Polaris watches are known for their high-performing calibers and distinctive style, blending vintage appeal with contemporary elegance to create versatile modern classics. The collection’s strong design codes include off-centered crowns, taut lines, glass-box crystals, narrow bezels, and a dynamic mix of brushed and polished surfaces. Skeletonized hands, assertive Arabic numerals, and elongated trapezoid indexes coated in SuperLuminova ensure legibility in low light conditions. The complex dial construction is enhanced by gradient colors and various decorative finishes like opaline, graining, sunray-brushing, and snailing, all beneath a rich, shiny lacquer coating.

The lacquering process is lengthy and precise, involving multiple layers of color and translucent lacquer, followed by meticulous polishing to achieve a perfect finish.

Introducing the Polaris Geographic: A Reinvention of Travel Time

Continuing its tradition of adding useful functions to the Polaris collection, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces the Polaris Geographic. This signature complication offers not just a second time zone but also a 24-hour night and day indicator and a city name display for the 24 major time zones, making it easy to set the second time according to location. The ocean-grey lacquer dial, featuring a double gradient finish, adds visual depth and dynamism. Orange accents highlight key information points, enhancing the overall composition.

The sapphire crystal case-back reveals the finely finished automatic movement, Calibre 939, which offers a 70-hour power reserve. Designed, produced, and assembled in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux, this movement epitomizes Jaeger-LeCoultre’s blend of mechanical elegance and high performance. The new Polaris Geographic comes with an interchangeable folding buckle and two straps – textured black rubber and blue-grey canvas – allowing for quick style changes.

New Dial Colors for Enhanced Allure

The Polaris collection is further enriched with new dial colors for two models. The Polaris Date now features a gradient ocean-grey dial, elevating its modern design, while the Polaris Perpetual Calendar is offered in pink gold with a striking gradient green dial, perfectly complementing the case’s richness and warmth. Both dials boast three different surface textures and a double-gradient color finish with 35 layers of lacquer for added depth and richness. Subtle orange highlights add a sporty touch.

Polaris Date: Sporty Elegance Redefined

Launched in 2018, the Polaris Date epitomizes sporty elegance with its nod to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s classic 1960s diving watches. The dial’s modern simplicity is matched by the signature double crown – one for adjusting the time and the other for rotating the inner bezel. The new-generation automatic Calibre 899, visible through the sapphire case-back, offers a 70-hour power reserve, ideal for active lifestyles. The 42mm steel case is water-resistant to 20 bar and comes with a textured rubber strap, easily interchangeable with a metal bracelet or other straps from the Polaris range.

Polaris Perpetual Calendar: Complex and Elegant

Introduced in 2022, the Polaris Perpetual Calendar features one of horology’s most complex and prized complications. This miniature mechanical computer automatically adjusts for the different durations of months and leap years, requiring no manual correction until 2100. The automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 868, with a 70-hour power reserve, ensures precise timekeeping. The 42mm pink gold case, featuring an interchangeable strap system, comes with black alligator and textured dark green rubber straps for versatile styling.

The new additions to the Polaris collection enhance its relaxed and contemporary elegance while emphasizing its sporty character, solidifying its status as a modern classic suited for everyday adventures.
