The 1916 Company has announced the Icons of Time World Tour, a four-city exhibition celebrating the pivotal collections of F.P. Journe and the innovation of De Bethune. This pan-Asian tour will begin in Beijing and continue to Shanghai, Bangkok, and Hong Kong, showcasing horological excellence through rare timepieces and exclusive events. Open to collectors, enthusiasts, and journalists, each stop will offer a unique experience with private appointments, conversations with experts, and exhibition viewings.
Celebrating F.P. Journe’s Legacy
The exhibition will feature GENERATIONS: A Timeline of F.P. Journe, a collection that highlights the brand’s technical achievements and dedication to chronometric perfection. Watches from this collection will travel from The 1916 Company’s New York F.P. Journe Gallery to Beijing, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. The exhibition celebrates F.P. Journe’s continuous pursuit of innovation and craftsmanship, with rare pieces available for viewing and purchase.
Key timepieces on display include the ‘pre-souscription’ Chronomètre à Résonance, the 30 Years Anniversary Tourbillon T30, and a Ruthenium set, along with notable examples from F.P. Journe’s Black Label, Boutique Edition, and Limited Series.
De Bethune’s Latest Novelties and Heritage Collection
De Bethune’s highly anticipated 2024 novelties, fresh from Geneva Watch Days, will be on display during the tour in Shanghai, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. Additionally, the newly unveiled De Bethune Heritage Collection will be featured in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Curated by the brand’s founder and master watchmaker, Denis Flageollet, the Heritage Collection includes 13 historical watches that reflect De Bethune’s contributions to modern horology. No longer in production, each timepiece showcases a blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
The collection’s latest novelties include the DB28xs Steel Wheels and the DB28xs Aérolite, which captivate with their architectural and technical sophistication. The Aérolite, with its blued Muonionalusta meteorite dial, exemplifies De Bethune’s innovative approach to blending watchmaking tradition with modern science.
