The first titanium watch by Krayon – in a new colour, green
A Limited Edition of only 25.
Green enthusiasts, rejoice! This shade of green conjures the awe-inspiring wonders of the natural world. It’s reminiscent of the skies ablaze with the mesmerizing northern lights, as well as the rebirth of fertile soil during the first days of spring. This green also evokes the freshness of grass after a refreshing rain, the lush beauty of meadows, the tranquility of forests, and the allure of wide-open spaces that beckon us to embark on adventures. This color heralds a sense of renewal, optimism, and a new, organic energy deeply connected to our natural universe. It feels both surprising and inherently intertwined with Krayon’s spirit since its establishment just six years ago.
The brand, founded by Rémi Maillat in 2017, holds a profound affinity with nature. This connection is most evident in its signature complication: a personal and intimate ephemeris. Until now, this theme has predominantly featured various shades of blue, drawing inspiration from reflections on water surfaces.
Now, in a bold move, KRAYON ventures into a new color palette and pairs it with a lighter, more modern metal—Grade 5 titanium. Titanium, known for its lightweight nature, offers exceptional corrosion resistance, enhancing the watch’s durability. It is stronger, hypoallergenic, biocompatible, and its low magnetism preserves the movement’s precision.
While the malleability of titanium allows for intricate designs, it also presented challenges, particularly in crafting lugs soldered directly onto the case. Soldering titanium is a rare feat in the world of watchmaking. Hand-polishing the case was another technical hurdle, given the material’s hardness, requiring special tools and skills. However, when carefully shaped and hand-polished, raw titanium transforms into a radiant work of art, capturing light in a unique way and resisting scratches to maintain its splendor over time.
The dial’s striking green hue is achieved through the ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) process, depositing ultrathin layers of select compounds to interact with light, producing this unique shade. ALD offers precise control over layer thickness, ensuring color gradation, impressive scratch resistance, and long-lasting durability.
Krayon’s “Anywhere Aurora” introduces a novel concept—an intimate connection to the Earth, allowing you to know the exact moment of sunrise and sunset at any location you choose. This complication bridges the personal experience of time with its objective measurement, marking the transitions between day and night.
“Anywhere” represents personalized moments and locations chosen by the wearer, connecting to their dreams, desires, and intimate memories. This emotional dimension of time and space is at the core of Krayon’s philosophy, transcending norms and routines. The watch’s peripheral ring divides the day into two sections, aligning with the wearer’s life tempo, and the length and color of these segments evolve as days pass.
Krayon’s Anywhere Aurora stands out as a watch that conforms to the wearer’s unique visions and aspirations, thanks to its innovative patent. The watch displays hours and minutes in the center of the dial, surrounded by a peripheral ring indicating the time over 24 hours, with a day sector and a night sector. The length of these sectors changes according to latitude, and this adjustment can be easily made by a Krayon watchmaker at the client’s request.
In addition to time-keeping, Anywhere Aurora also displays the date and month at 6 o’clock, requiring only five simple annual adjustments. The watch’s design seamlessly blends aesthetic appeal with its innovative features.
Krayon Anywhere Aurora is presented with two straps, one in grained calfskin and the other in salmon skin, symbolizing KRAYON’s affinity with the element of water.
