Longines Legend Diver 39

Easily identifiable by its dual crowns and internal rotating bezel, the reemergence of the LONGINES LEGEND DIVER showcases a 39 mm diameter, staying true to the original 1959 model that inspired its design. This authentic tool-watch, born from Longines’ historical association with sport and exploration, is offered with a choice of a black or blue dial.

Longines, synonymous with excellence in land, air, and sea pursuits, established its legacy in underwater timekeeping in 1958 with the launch of its inaugural underwater watch. The groundbreaking Super-Compressor case, featuring an internal rotating disc and two screw-down crowns, gave birth to the iconic Longines Legend Diver design.

Evolved for the contemporary era, the legendary tool-watch now boasts a redesigned 39 mm case and is certified as a Divers’ Watch (ISO 6425), capable of withstanding water pressure up to 30 bar / 300 meters. Additionally, the watch is chronometer-certified by COSC, subjected to a rigorous 15-day testing process in various positions and temperatures to ensure precision.

Powering this model is the exclusive Longines L888.6 calibre, incorporating a silicon balance-spring and innovative components that provide magnetic resistance exceeding the ISO 764 benchmark standard by tenfold. This self-winding mechanical movement boasts a substantial 72-hour power reserve.

The distinctive dial, bereft of a date display, is offered in black or blue lacquer and protected by a domed sapphire crystal with black metal plating and anti-reflective coating on both sides. Elongated indexes and luminescent Arabic numerals adorn the dial, complemented by rhodium-plated arrow-hands coated with Super LumiNova® for optimal visibility day and night.

A hallmark of the model is the internal bidirectional rotating bezel for measuring dive time, situated within the case to safeguard against handling and accidental shocks. The screw-down crown at 2 o’clock activates the graduated 60-minute scale, capped with a luminescent triangle at 12 o’clock.

Crafted with finesse, the stainless-steel case features alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces, showcasing the collection’s emblem—a diver—engraved on the screw-down case back. The timepiece offers versatility with options of a brown leather strap, a blue NATO strap, and a new stainless-steel bracelet with a double-safety folding clasp.
