Moritz Grossmann Tourbillon Tremblage Royal Blue and Primavera Classic Blue

In celebration of SwissPrimeBrands’ tenth anniversary in Taipei, German watchmaker Moritz Grossmann has unveiled a series of limited edition timepieces. These timepieces feature striking blue dials. The new releases include two unique Tourbillon Tremblage Royal Blue models. There is also a limited run of ten Primavera Classic Blue watches.

Tourbillon Tremblage Royal Blue

The Tourbillon Tremblage Royal Blue, available in rose gold or white gold cases, showcases a hand-engraved dial using the tremblage technique. This method involves moving engraving tools across the metal surface in a trembling motion, creating a textured, matt finish. The inner dial features this intricate engraving, while the outer ring is finished in a matt blue.

These tourbillon models feature off-center hour displays at 3 o’clock and seconds at 9 o’clock. The rose gold variant has hands crafted from 750/000 gold, while the white gold model uses polished steel hands. A patented double minute display compensates for the tourbillon aperture in the lower half of the dial.

The Tourbillon Tremblage Royal Blue is powered by the hand-wound calibre 103.0, which includes a large flying tourbillon that completes one rotation every three minutes. The movement also incorporates a patented stop-seconds mechanism using a human hair brush.

Primavera Classic Blue

The Primavera Classic Blue, limited to ten pieces, features a stainless steel case and a dial in “Classic Blue” – a hue that shifts in appearance depending on lighting conditions. This model houses the calibre 100.1, a hand-finished movement with German silver components and a distinctive 2/3 plate design.

Both watch series highlight Moritz Grossmann’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship, featuring hand-engraved balance cocks and meticulous movement finishing. The watches also incorporate the brand’s innovative hand-setting mechanism, designed to prevent accidental time changes when resetting the crown.

These special editions not only mark a milestone for SwissPrimeBrands but also showcase Moritz Grossmann’s expertise in watchmaking and their exploration of the color blue in horology. They embody the pinnacle of ‘schönstes deutsches Handwerk’ – the most beautiful German craftsmanship – combining technical innovation with aesthetic refinement.

The Tourbillon Tremblage Royal Blue models have intricate tremblage engraving. They also feature a sophisticated tourbillon complication. These models represent the height of Moritz Grossmann’s horological prowess. The dial production alone involves several days of work, from the meticulous engraving and finishing to the final galvanization process that achieves the perfect blue hue.

Meanwhile, the Primavera Classic Blue captures the essence of understated elegance. Its shimmering blue dial, which changes appearance with different lighting conditions, is complemented by finely chamfered indices and the brand’s signature handcrafted, polished steel hands.

Both watch series feature movements that are finished by hand in the best Glashütte tradition, including carefully applied ribbing and hand engraving on the balance cock. The Tourbillon models’ calibre 103.0 and the Primavera’s calibre 100.1 both showcase the brand’s commitment to traditional watchmaking techniques while incorporating innovative features like the perfected hand-setting mechanism.

These anniversary editions – two unique Tourbillon Tremblage Royal Blue pieces and ten Primavera Classic Blue watches – are a celebration of horological artistry, a tribute to a decade-long partnership, and a testament to Moritz Grossmann’s dedication to the highest standards of watchmaking. In these timepieces, the brand has captured the multifaceted nature of blue, from its historical significance to its visual allure, while demonstrating their mastery of both technical and aesthetic aspects of haute horlogerie.
