Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber visit Planet Omega Exhibition

The festivities at the Planet OMEGA exhibition persisted on Tuesday, with the warm welcome of Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber to the showcase in New York. Building on the momentum from last week’s Opening Night event at the Chelsea Factory, Cindy and Kaia graced the occasion as the latest distinguished guests, embodying two generations of OMEGA ambassadors.

Planet OMEGA breathes vitality into the illustrious watchmaking history of the Swiss brand, presenting a collection of iconic timepieces from both the past and present. Running until November 19, the exhibition provides a unique opportunity to delve into OMEGA’s rich heritage, featuring six distinct areas dedicated to Sport and Olympic Games, Space, Ocean, James Bond, Friends, and Precision.

Cindy Crawford, the iconic fashion model, assumed the role of OMEGA’s inaugural ambassador in 1995 and has remained an integral part of the brand’s family ever since. Having graced numerous events worldwide and featured prominently in some of the most iconic advertising campaigns, particularly for the Constellation collection, she has become a recognizable face for OMEGA.

Speaking in New York, she shared, “I’ve been with Omega for almost 30 years. It’s a brand I really value, and we’ve experienced so many different things together over the years. This exhibition is a great reminder of OMEGA’s incredible journey. I feel quite proud that we’ve grown together, and always been able to support each other in our passions.”

Following in the renowned footsteps of her mother on the runway, Kaia Gerber has infused her own youthful energy and style into the fashion world. Growing up with OMEGA, it was only natural for Kaia to join the OMEGA ambassador family, a decision she made in 2017.

She expressed, “OMEGA watches have been part of my life from the very start. I’ve always loved their quality and the expressive designs they create, but also the impact they’ve had outside of watchmaking, whether that’s going to the moon or timing the Olympics. It’s a joy to be part of this iconic brand.”

During their visit to Planet OMEGA, both Cindy and Kaia engaged in a panel discussion, sharing insights into their careers and their profound connection to OMEGA and the concept of time. It was also an opportunity to reminisce about their initial OMEGA experience in 2014 when they traveled to Peru for the filming of “The Hospital in the Sky” – an OMEGA documentary about Orbis International and its fight against blindness.

The Planet OMEGA exhibition showcases watches and narratives spanning across decades. Some notable highlights to explore up close include the OMEGA wristwatch worn by Elvis Presley and the OMEGA Slimline timepiece worn by John F. Kennedy at his presidential Inauguration Ceremony in 1961.
