This past Friday, the Planet OMEGA exhibition in New York witnessed another memorable evening, marked by a special guest appearance from Daniel Craig. Following Thursday’s Opening Night with Nicole Kidman, Daniel, the latest OMEGA ambassador, graced the showcase at the Chelsea Factory.
Planet OMEGA brings to life the rich watchmaking history of the Swiss brand, featuring iconic timepieces from both the past and present. Running until November 19, the exhibition provides an opportunity to delve into OMEGA’s DNA, with six distinct areas dedicated to Sport and Olympic Games, Space, Ocean, James Bond, Friends, and Precision.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, accompanied Daniel during the cocktail event, guiding him through the exhibition. Aeschlimann remarked, “We can’t discuss OMEGA without mentioning James Bond. The spy has been sporting our watches since 1995, so I’m thrilled that Daniel could join us today. Over his five 007 films, he has truly showcased the precision, style, and reliability of OMEGA, even contributing to our design process.”
Daniel Craig has been an OMEGA ambassador since assuming the role of James Bond in Casino Royale in 2006. During his visit to the Planet OMEGA exhibition, he had the chance to explore many of the most recognizable Seamaster models featured in over 25 years of Bond films. This includes the Seamaster Diver 300M he recently wore in No Time To Die—a movie prop on loan from the OMEGA Museum in Switzerland.
Addressing the New York event, Daniel expressed, “I’ve long admired OMEGA’s timeless designs, and I appreciate how this exhibition showcases the authentic connection between their vintage watches and their latest models. It’s a perfect way to illustrate the unique essence of the brand.”
The Planet OMEGA exhibition abounds with watches and stories spanning decades. Notable highlights include other James Bond models, such as the Seamaster Diver 300M from The World Is Not Enough in 1999, as well as the animated 60th-anniversary edition launched last year.
