James Bond Visits the Olympic Games in Paris
OMEGA’s famous brand ambassador, Daniel Craig, made a special trip to the Olympic Games in Paris to immerse himself in the excitement of the 2024 event.
While in the host city, the acclaimed actor had the opportunity to witness some of the most captivating competitions up close. He attended the Showjumping events at the historic Château de Versailles and the thrilling Skateboarding events at the Concorde plaza.
But Craig’s visit wasn’t just about spectating – he also stopped by the OMEGA House to get an inside look at the brand’s role as the Official Timekeeper of the Games. As a long-standing OMEGA ambassador since his debut as James Bond in Casino Royale back in 2006, the actor was eager to see the brand’s renowned timekeeping technology in action.
“To see Paris in all its glory for the Olympic Games is quite spectacular,” said Daniel Craig. “I have always appreciated OMEGA’s craftsmanship as well as their eye for design; but to see their precision technology in action here at the Olympics, whilst the world is watching, is remarkable.”
Accompanying Craig was OMEGA’s President and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann, who was delighted to share this unique experience with the iconic actor. “It’s so nice to share this side of OMEGA with Daniel. We’ve been so fully immersed in James Bond over the years, this is a great chance for us to celebrate something totally different together and watch the incredible Olympic Games sports that are taking place,” Aeschlimann said.
In addition to observing the timekeeping technology at the competition venues, Craig also had the chance to explore OMEGA’s dedicated Timekeeping exhibition at the brand’s Parisian headquarters. Eagle-eyed fans may have even spotted him sporting a new OMEGA watch, the details of which will be unveiled later this year.
Located just steps from the Musée d’Orsay, the OMEGA House is hosting a series of VIP events and themed evenings throughout the Olympic Games. Members can relax in the sophisticated spaces during the day, while the venue transforms into an exclusive hub for OMEGA’s celebrity friends in the evenings. The House will remain open until August 10th.
With his insider’s view of OMEGA’s role at the Olympics, Craig left Paris with a renewed appreciation for the brand’s commitment to precision timekeeping. “To see Paris in all its glory for the Olympic Games is quite spectacular,” he said. “I have always appreciated OMEGA’s craftsmanship as well as their eye for design; but to see their precision technology in action here at the Olympics, whilst the world is watching, is remarkable.”
