Seamaster Night at Omega House Paris: Celebrating Swimming Legends
To mark the conclusion of the thrilling aquatic events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Omega House Paris hosted a special evening dedicated to honoring the athletes who excelled in swimming and diving. Held on Monday, the event followed over a week of historic competition and featured prominent figures from the swimming world, including the legendary Michael Phelps and quadruple medalist Léon Marchand.
The evening also saw the presence of other notable Omega sporting ambassadors, including four gold medalists from the Games: swimmers Kaylee McKeown and Thomas Ceccon, and sailors Diego Botin and Florian Trittel.
Omega House, the Swiss brand’s exclusive venue for the duration of the Olympic Games, serves as the Official Timekeeper for Paris 2024. Seamaster Night stood out as a highlight, celebrating both the athletes’ achievements and Omega significant contributions to competitive swimming and diving. The brand has played a key role in developing essential technologies for the sport, including touchpads and underwater lap counters, which ensure the most precise and comprehensive measurement of events.
In his address to the guests, Omega President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann stated, “OMEGA has a passion for swimming and diving that reaches beyond the Olympic Games and through to the most important championships and competitions. Thanks to that deep involvement, we’ve developed some very close relationships with our swimming ambassadors. Tonight is the perfect way to say congratulations and give them the space to celebrate Paris 2024 in style.”
Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian in history with 28 medals, reflected on the event saying, “At Paris 2024, it’s been amazing to watch these athletes accomplish their goals. Knowing what goes into it every single day, for me to be here, it’s been a dream come true. We have people coming from all over the world to celebrate the greatest athletic achievements, and for me, it’s fun to watch hard work pay off.”
French swimmer Léon Marchand, who won four gold medals and one bronze while setting four Olympic records, shared his excitement about the Games: “There’s been a lot of favourite moments this week. It’s been like Christmas for me, getting my gifts every day. I was really opening my eyes and listening to everything, because I know I’ll remember this forever.”
Located at The Hôtel de Poulpry, Maison des Polytechniciens, just steps from the Musée d’Orsay, OMEGA House Paris celebrates the brand’s role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.
