Orient has unveiled a new series of chronograph models from its renowned “Orient Mako” line, including a special 20th-anniversary limited edition. This release features four distinct color variations, with the anniversary model drawing inspiration from the beauty of the sea. The limited-edition model is highlighted by a blue gradient dial, while the other versions offer vibrant shades of sky blue, red, and ivory. The collection will be available starting September 20, 2024.

About Orient Mako’s Legacy

Since its introduction in 2004, the Orient Mako has become a staple of the brand’s diver-inspired watches, gaining popularity for its robust design and versatile features. While the new models carry the essence of the original, they come with modern updates, such as solar-powered movement and the inclusion of chronograph functions. This makes the collection suitable for both daily use and outdoor activities, offering convenience through its solar charging capabilities, eliminating the need for regular battery replacement.

The reverse-rotating bezel, colored with blue and black aluminum segments, adds to the watch’s stylish aesthetic while maintaining the functional elements of a diver’s watch.

Functional Enhancements

This edition includes three subdials for enhanced chronograph functionality: a 24-hour display at 3 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds display at 9 o’clock. Luminous numerals and indexes ensure legibility even in low light, and the crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire. The screw-down crown and case back ensure water resistance of up to 20 ATM (200 meters), making it suitable for both swimming and everyday wear.

New Color Variants

In addition to the anniversary model, Orient is releasing three new color variants: sky blue, red, and ivory. Each dial is paired with contrasting black subdials, enhancing the sporty look of the chronograph while maintaining the classic Mako design. The stainless-steel case and strap provide durability, while the solar-powered movement adds practicality, offering up to six months of operation on a full charge.

A Collector’s Item and Fashion Staple

The 20th-anniversary Orient Mako Chronograph, limited to just 300 pieces, is expected to appeal to collectors and enthusiasts who value exclusivity. With its ocean-inspired design and luxurious details, it stands out as both a functional tool and a stylish accessory. The new color variants are equally suitable for those who appreciate a combination of diver and chronograph aesthetics.
