Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Father Time

Oris and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) have collaborated on a special bronze edition of the Big Crown Pointer Date, underscoring Oris’s commitment to “Change for the Better.” At the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, a clock tower stands tall, featuring a distinctive weathervane known as Father Time. This symbol, synonymous with Lord’s and the spirit of cricket worldwide, inspired the creation of the Father Time Limited Edition bronze watch.

The Father Time Limited Edition, introduced by Oris and MCC, embodies the shared vision of both entities to instigate positive change. As the official timekeeper of Lord’s and a proud partner of MCC, Oris celebrates their formal role at the club while emphasizing the joint efforts to bring about meaningful transformations in the community.

MCC, renowned as the world’s most active cricket club and the custodian of Lord’s, aligns with Oris in their dedication to community well-being, locally and globally. The collaboration extends beyond cricket, encompassing diverse programs such as educational, social, and sports events for the local community. Notably, Oris and MCC joined forces in a Change for the Better Day, tackling plastic waste on the streets of London.

A shared commitment to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals unites Oris and MCC in advocating for local, social, and environmental initiatives. The Father Time Limited Edition watch serves as a tribute to the club, the game, and the collective pursuit of positive change, echoing the mantra that together they can bring about “Change for the Better.”

The Father Time Limited Edition, measuring 40 mm and crafted from solid bronze, narrates a story dating back to the 1920s. The weathervane, a gift from Sir Herbert Baker to MCC, embodies a mythical character overseeing the passage of time and is linked to Law 12.3 of the Laws of Cricket. This law signifies the end of the day’s play after the call of Time.

The watch, based on the iconic Big Crown Pointer Date design, features a 40 mm case, fluted bezel, and crown made of naturally aging bronze. It includes a bronze articulated bracelet and a sustainably sourced light brown leather strap. The case back, crafted from stainless steel, is engraved with the image of the Father Time weathervane and the limited-edition number, marking its exclusivity to 1,926 pieces, commemorating the year Father Time was gifted to Lord’s. Powering the watch is the Oris Calibre 754, a Swiss Made automatic movement that incorporates the distinctive pointer date function with a red, crescent-shaped tip.
