Oris Celebrates 120th Anniversary with Hölstein Edition 2024
Oris, founded in the Swiss village of Hölstein in 1904, marks its 120th anniversary this year. Staying true to its independent spirit, Oris continues to produce high-quality mechanical watches that embody precision, innovation, and a deep connection to nature.
The journey began when two entrepreneurial watchmakers established Oris, named after a nearby brook. Over the past 120 years, Oris has built a reputation for crafting exceptional Swiss Made mechanical watches. The company has developed more than 280 in-house mechanical calibres, including the current Calibre 400 Series, which powers everyday timepieces.
Oris remains committed to its founding principles, producing only mechanical watches because they believe in the joy of mechanics and the importance of creating durable products. As an independently certified climate-neutral company, Oris aligns its operations with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, drawing inspiration from the surrounding natural environment.
The Hölstein Edition 2024 embodies this ethos. This special edition is a black-on-black version of the Divers Sixty-Five, marking the first time Oris has created a watch with an all-black finish and a regular bezel housing the Calibre 400. Limited to just 250 pieces, this model serves as a unique punctuation mark in Oris’s storied history.
Each year on June 1st, Oris releases a Hölstein Edition to celebrate its anniversary and offer a distinctive watch for its fans. This year’s edition, the Hölstein Edition 2024, features a 40mm stainless steel case, bezel, and crown, all plated in black DLC (diamond-like carbon). The hands, hour markers, dial text, date wheel, and lume are also black, and the watch comes with a black rubber strap and a black-DLC-plated buckle.
The Hölstein Edition 2024 is the first Divers Sixty-Five to pair a regular bezel with a minutes scale on a model powered by the in-house Calibre 400. This movement offers a five-day power reserve, enhanced anti-magnetism, 10-year recommended service intervals, and a 10-year warranty when registered at MyOris.
The case back, also plated in black DLC, is engraved with the limited edition number and the Oris Bear, dressed in flowery swim trunks and sunglasses to celebrate the summer season. The watch is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters).
Available in Oris boutiques and on their website, the Hölstein Edition 2024 can also be ordered for collection from authorized Oris dealers. With only 250 pieces available, this special edition is expected to be highly sought after by collectors and fans alike.
