Oris is thrilled to announce the return of the ProPilot GMT, a timepiece tailored for pilots navigating different time zones at high altitudes. The latest model showcases a sleek 41.5 mm case made of grey-PVD-plated stainless steel, complete with a second time zone, a pulsometer scale, and a vibrant gradient red dial. With a legacy of crafting pilot’s watches for over a century, Oris introduced the Big Crown in 1938—a watch with an oversized crown specifically designed for gloved airmen, still in production today.
The ProPilot carries forward the essence of its predecessor, venturing into new realms by combining diverse materials, finishes, and functions to offer contemporary and highly dependable pilot’s watches. The second time zone of the ProPilot GMT is highlighted by a central hand adorned with a red pointer. Drawing inspiration from Oris’s collaborations with leading aeromedical organizations, the bezel features a pulsometer scale for measuring heart rates.
Priority is given to legibility in a pilot’s watch. The matte grey-PVD-plated finish counteracts cockpit glare, while the bright luminescence on the hands and applied indices ensures visibility against the contrasting gradient red dial—a hue synonymous with adventure. The timepiece is driven by an automatic mechanical movement with a 42-hour power reserve, presented on a black textile strap with a red leather lining. The strap is secured with Oris’s patented ‘Lift’ clasp, reminiscent of commercial airliner seatbelt buckles.
