Rado Expands True Square Thinline Collection with Urban-Inspired Models

Swiss watchmaker Rado has introduced new additions to its True Square Thinline collection, drawing influence from urban nightlife. The expanded line features three new models, each incorporating elements that reflect city environments after dark.

The new timepieces maintain the collection’s square shape and slim profile while introducing design elements evocative of nocturnal cityscapes. One model presents a black sun-brushed dial with contrasting lacquered hands in turquoise (R27054152) or orange (R27054162). Another variant offers a dark green mother-of-pearl dial paired with yellow lacquered hands and indexes (R27047902).

Each watch in the new series features a high-tech ceramic monobloc case and crown, with matching ceramic bracelets. This material choice aligns with Rado’s longstanding use of advanced ceramics in watchmaking, a practice the company initiated in 1986.

The watches measure 5.0 mm in thickness, housing the Rado calibre R420 quartz movement. This movement, less than one millimeter thick, enables the slim profile of the timepieces. Technical specifications include a titanium case back, three-fold clasp, and water resistance up to 30 meters.

Rado’s high-tech ceramic undergoes a specific manufacturing process. The material is formed from finely calibrated powders, shaped, and then baked at high temperatures. The resulting substance has a hardness rating of 1,250 on the Vickers scale, contributing to the watches’ durability and finish.

These new models represent Rado’s ongoing efforts to combine material innovation with contemporary design in the luxury watch sector. The True Square Thinline collection’s latest iterations aim to appeal to consumers interested in modern, urban-inspired timepieces.

Pricing and availability details for the new models were not specified in the initial announcement. Potential buyers are advised to contact authorized Rado retailers or consult the brand’s official website for more information on these new additions to the True Square Thinline collection.
