Swatch introduces a new level of timekeeping inspired by Earth’s beauty from the lunar perspective with its Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase. This non-limited edition watch combines unique dual complications—a moon phase and the newly patented earth phase—offering a captivating experience for watch enthusiasts and those inspired by space.
A Celestial Reimagining
The Mission to Earthphase pays homage to Earth’s iconic image as seen from space, an inspiration drawn from the Apollo missions. For the first time, Swatch presents a timepiece featuring both moon and earth phases, with the earth phase moving counterclockwise on the subdial at 10 o’clock, opposite the moon phase at 2 o’clock. This distinctive duality reimagines the mechanics of retrograde displays with a poetic touch.
Crafted in Bioceramic
True to its reputation for material innovation, Swatch crafts the Mission to Earthphase case, crown, and pushers from Bioceramic, a blend of two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-sourced materials from castor oil. The light gray Bioceramic bezel sports a black tachymeter with light gray markings, complemented by an asymmetrical case reminiscent of the Speedmaster’s lunar legacy.
Illuminated Elegance
The Mission to Earthphase’s dial displays a grainy gray texture, accented with Grade A Super-LumiNova detailing on the subdials, hands, and hour markers for clear readability. Under UV light, the dial’s celestial details take on subtle highlights of ocean blues and cloud contrasts, giving the watch an otherworldly radiance. The earth phase, carefully crafted to display Earth’s view from space, glows with a vibrance that mirrors its real-life counterpart.
