Swatch is delighted to announce the addition of emerging ski talent Mila De Le Rue to its esteemed Proteam, bolstering the lineup of winter sports specialists. Mila will debut with Swatch at the Swatch Nines Snow event in Schilthorn, Switzerland, scheduled for April.
As the daughter of snowboarding icon Xavier De Le Rue – a longstanding Swatch Proteam athlete since 2000 – Mila, who recently celebrated her 18th birthday, has been immersed in skiing practically since birth, initiated into the Freeride World Tour club at the tender age of 13. Over the years, she has progressed to compete in various international Under-18 competitions and has now embarked on the Freeride World Tour Qualifiers in 2024.
Drawing from her father’s expertise, Mila has honed her skills under the guidance of a dedicated team of coaches, establishing herself as a formidable skier in her own right.
In addition to her skiing prowess, Mila is a versatile athlete with interests spanning downhill biking, climbing, and skating, all of which she enjoys in her hometown of Verbier, Switzerland. Beyond sports, Mila is a creative soul, dabbling in photography, sewing, drawing, ceramics, and music, with guitar and ukulele among her passions.
Joining the Swatch Proteam marks a milestone for Mila, fulfilling a lifelong aspiration and providing her with the opportunity to be among inspirational peers. Ever the dreamer, Mila’s ultimate goal is to sustain a skiing career while indulging in a summer spent surfing on the beach.
Recognizing the profound impact of sports in channeling emotions and fostering mindfulness, Mila attests that skiing enables her to be fully present, immersed in the moment. Known for her relaxed skiing style, she approaches her craft with a focus on enjoyment and self-improvement – a philosophy shared by Swatch.
