Swatch’s Bioceramic MoonSwatch MISSION TO THE MOONPHASE is doubling up its celestial celebrations with the unveiling of the all-new NEW MOON timepiece. Following the launch of its predecessor on March 26, this latest addition to Swatch’s lunar-themed collection pays homage to the new moon phase, sporting an all-black design.
Marking two years since its historic collaboration with Omega, Swatch introduces not one, but two new models commemorating the moon. The NEW MOON variant features a sleek black moon phase disc adorned with Snoopy catching some shut-eye against a backdrop of stars. This release joins its counterpart, the FULL MOON model, in offering enthusiasts a lunar-inspired timepiece.
Available exclusively in selected Swatch stores starting April 8, the Bioceramic MoonSwatch MISSION TO THE MOONPHASE – NEW MOON continues the collection’s tradition of limiting purchases to one watch per person, per day, and per store.
Snoopy enthusiasts will delight in the subtle nods to the beloved character found throughout the design. Positioned at 2 o’clock, Snoopy reclines on the moon phase subdial, while a hidden quote from a classic Snoopy comic strip adorns the moon phase mask and disc, visible under UV light. This charming homage to the iconic beagle is a tribute to the Silver Snoopy Award, NASA’s prestigious recognition of outstanding contributions to space exploration safety and success.
The NEW MOON and FULL MOON models both feature Snoopy-inspired moon phase discs, with the latter already available at selected Swatch stores. Crafted from Swatch’s patented Bioceramic, a blend of ceramic and biosourced materials derived from castor oil, these watches offer a unique blend of durability and sustainability.
Inspired by Omega’s legendary Speedmaster Moonwatch, the Bioceramic MoonSwatch MISSION TO THE MOONPHASE series embodies iconic design elements such as the asymmetrical case and tachymeter-scaled bezel.
