TAG Heuer celebrates 14th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix

TAG Heuer Returns to 14th Monaco Historic Grand Prix, Celebrating a Century-Long Motorsport Legacy

TAG Heuer, the iconic Swiss luxury watchmaker, proudly returns for the 14th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, reinforcing its century-long connection to motorsport, a tradition that began in 1911. As a steadfast partner of the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM), TAG Heuer is honored to support one of the most prestigious events in the classic car racing calendar.

The Monaco Historic Grand Prix is a highlight for classic car enthusiasts, attracting a passionate community of owners, drivers, and spectators who revel in the spectacle of historic Grand Prix racing on the legendary circuit. Over 200 cars from 50 different manufacturers and 21 countries compete in eight series, spanning the 1930s to the 1980s, selected for their historic value and originality.

TAG Heuer’s illustrious history is deeply intertwined with motorsport legends such as Mike Hailwood, Jochen Rindt, Mario Andretti, Niki Lauda, and Clay Regazzoni, all of whom proudly wore TAG Heuer watches. The brand’s collaborations with Ferrari (1971-1979) and Formula One (1992-2004) are pivotal milestones in its motorsport heritage. TAG Heuer’s timekeeping equipment was a staple for significant racing teams in the 1970s, solidifying its indispensable role in motorsport history.

This rich heritage continues as ROFGO Racing, a valued partner, enters several cars in this year’s event, including one adorned in the iconic Gulf colors, famously associated with the TAG Heuer Monaco. Additionally, Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing’s technical director and TAG Heuer partner, will race a Lotus 49B, symbolizing the seamless integration of TAG Heuer’s current partnerships with its historic legacy.

“Our partnership with the Automobile Club of Monaco underscores TAG Heuer’s deep-rooted connection to the world of motorsport,” said Julien Tornare, TAG Heuer’s CEO. “As the official sponsor, watch, and timekeeper of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, we are thrilled to be here in 2024, showcasing our passion for this universe, and we are excited to witness the races.”

This year’s Monaco Historic Grand Prix holds special significance as it commemorates the 30th anniversary of the legendary driver Ayrton Senna’s passing. The Automobile Club of Monaco and the Senna Foundation will honor Senna’s legacy with a unique parade featuring six to eight cars driven or owned by the Brazilian racing legend, highlighting his remarkable journey from karting to Formula One. The parade will be accompanied by Bianca Senna and the Senna family.

Adding to the excitement, Hollywood actor, racing enthusiast, and TAG Heuer ambassador Patrick Dempsey will participate in the opening of TAG Heuer’s new boutique in Monaco.

TAG Heuer eagerly anticipates welcoming guests to Monaco for a weekend filled with excitement, nostalgia, and unforgettable moments, celebrating the timeless allure of classic car racing and its enduring motorsport legacy.
