The Salon in Shanghai is gearing up to open its doors, and for the first time ever, it will dedicate two days to the general public. During this event, visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore the collections and the latest timepieces from the 14 participating Maisons, in addition to attending various workshops, talks, and a specially tailored program.
The event’s program promises to be packed with activities, making the five days of Watches and Wonders Shanghai a must-attend experience. Taking place from September 13th to 17th, 2023, this Salon is breaking new ground by opening its doors to the public for the entire weekend. Tickets, priced at 150 RMB, are available through the Watches and Wonders WeChat account and the Damai ticketing platform, granting access to the entire show, featuring the 14 participating Maisons, new timepieces, engaging talks, exhibitions, and workshops. However, it’s important to note that the first three days will remain exclusively reserved for professionals – retailers and the press – by invitation only. To ensure that no one misses out, the entire Auditorium program, including conferences and panel discussions, will be broadcast live and available for replay online via WeChat.
The Salon will be thoughtfully organized across two floors, with the aim of providing the best possible experience to every visitor. The ground floor will house all 14 exhibiting brands, creating a seamless and convenient exploration space. Meanwhile, the first floor will be dedicated to culture and education, featuring an auditorium with seating for nearly 100 people. Here, visitors can attend a variety of themed talks, some of which will be led by CEOs from the exhibiting Maisons. These discussions will cover a wide range of topics, including “The Fine Watchmaking Universe,” “Iconic Watches,” “A Glimpse of Complication,” and “History of Time Measurement.” The official program for Watches and Wonders Shanghai spans five days and includes introductory watchmaking workshops, around 15 themed talks, demonstrations of watchmaking craftsmanship, and a captivating photo exhibition titled “What Time Is It?” by Karine Bauzin, which delves into our relationship with time.
This event offers a fantastic opportunity for the younger generation to discover the artistry, craftsmanship, and exquisite timepieces on display, and to become a part of the passionate community of fine watchmaking enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
For the first time, the Lazada e-commerce platform will enable watch enthusiasts in Southeast Asia to purchase exceptional timepieces unveiled at the Salon online.
Watches and Wonders Shanghai provides a comprehensive experience that allows both professionals and the general public to immerse themselves in the world of watchmaking brands that bring the Salon to life. Running from 9 am to 7 pm, the schedule combines a blend of online and offline activities, plenary talks, small group workshops, and guided as well as self-guided tours.
