Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar

The much-anticipated ZENITH triple calendar chronograph returns with a sharper design, making a grand entrance as the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar. This variation of the El Primero, cherished for over 50 years, boasts a clean and balanced display of information, instantly recognizable and historically inspired within the unmistakable Chronomaster lineage.

The Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar merges the cutting-edge performance of ZENITH’s renowned automatic high-frequency chronograph calibre with a triple calendar and moon phase, all encapsulated in a compact design. Remarkably, this timepiece has been 55 years in the making, stemming from the initial design of the El Primero in 1969, which was envisioned to incorporate the triple calendar and moon phase functions from its inception.

This versatile addition to the Chronomaster collection combines a 1/10th of a second chronograph with a complete calendar in a manner that ensures intuitive readability without overwhelming the dial. Days of the week and months are symmetrically displayed above the chronograph counters, while the date window maintains the traditional El Primero position at 04:30. The moonphase display complements the 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock.

The vintage-inspired 38mm steel case of the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar is based precisely on the blueprint and proportions of the A386 from 1969. With a bezel-less construction and a raised, domed sapphire crystal, this timepiece achieves the feat of integrating a complete calendar with a moonphase mechanism into the automatic high-frequency 1/10th of a second chronograph calibre without altering the case’s proportions.

Offered in two distinct dial versions, a sportier silvery-white “panda” opaline dial and an opulent opaline slate-grey dial, both highlight the rose gold-tone applied baton markers and hands. A third dial variant, exclusively for the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar Boutique Edition, comes in a sunburst olive-green tone with golden applied markers and hands. Each version features calendar wheels matching the dial colors.

The latest generation El Primero automatic high-frequency chronograph calibre, the El Primero 3610, powers the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar, operating at 5 Hz (36,000 VpH) for a true 1/10th of a second chronograph function. Despite the additional calendar functions, the movement provides an approximately 60-hour power reserve. The sapphire display back showcases the contemporary architecture of the movement, revealing the blue column wheel and open rotor marked with the five-pointed ZENITH star.

Available with either a three-link steel bracelet or a calfskin strap in various colors, the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar with silvery-white and slate-grey dials can be found at all ZENITH boutiques and authorized retailers. The Boutique Edition is exclusively available at ZENITH physical and online boutiques worldwide.
