Zenith expands its Defy Extreme Diver line with a new variation featuring a silver dial, adding a striking, versatile look to this high-performance dive watch collection. Building on the success of the Defy Extreme Diver series unveiled at Watches & Wonders, this release showcases Zenith’s commitment to innovation in precision and design, engineered to withstand challenging underwater environments.
New Silver-Toned Dial for Enhanced Readability and Style
The novelty here lies in the silvery-white sunray-patterned dial, which brings a new aesthetic to the Defy Extreme Diver’s lineup. The dial is adorned with Zenith’s starry geometric motif, adding depth to the minimalist design while enhancing legibility in and out of the water. Bold rhodium-plated hour markers and oversized hands are filled with three colors of Super-LumiNova—blue, green, and yellow—to clearly differentiate the hours, minutes, and seconds in low-light settings. The bright orange accents on the seconds hand are a nod to historical Defy diver models, chosen for their visibility underwater.
Constructed for Depth with Robust Titanium and Ceramic
Crafted in a durable 42.5mm titanium case, the Defy Extreme Diver is engineered for high resistance to the corrosive effects of saltwater, combining strength with a lightweight feel. The addition of a black ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel enhances durability and allows divers to precisely measure elapsed time. Meeting ISO 6245 standards, the watch is water-resistant to 600 meters and includes a helium escape valve, specifically designed for saturation diving.
El Primero Precision for Consistent Performance
Inside the Defy Extreme Diver is Zenith’s proprietary El Primero 3620 SC calibre, a high-frequency automatic movement known for its accuracy at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz). This calibre also features a silicon escapement for increased resistance to magnetic interference and a 60-hour power reserve. The movement’s star-shaped oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, highlights Zenith’s in-house craftsmanship.
Versatile Strap Options for Various Environments
Zenith provides three interchangeable strap options with this model, allowing wearers to adapt the Defy Extreme Diver to different conditions. The set includes a titanium bracelet, a black rubber strap with a Cordura-effect texture, and a white fabric strap made from recycled fishing nets, specially designed for over-wetsuit wear. The tool-free interchangeability system ensures quick adjustments for optimal comfort.
