Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon

ZENITH Elevates DEFY Skyline Collection with Cutting-Edge Tourbillon Technology

In an exciting development for watch aficionados, ZENITH Manufacture has introduced a stellar addition to its DEFY Skyline collection – the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon. This horological masterpiece showcases a new automatic high-frequency tourbillon calibre, available in two striking versions: steel and black ceramic.

The tourbillon mechanism, synonymous with the pinnacle of fine watchmaking, stands as a testament to ZENITH’s technical prowess and the exceptional skills of its watchmakers. Originating in the late 18th century to counteract gravitational effects on watch precision, ZENITH has infused modern flair into this classic invention, highlighting the Manufacture’s unmatched expertise in high-frequency precision across diverse movement types. The DEFY collection’s distinctive edgy design is seamlessly integrated into a timepiece designed for everyday wear.

Operating at a high-frequency rate of 5Hz (36,000 VpH), the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon’s El Primero movement ensures optimal chronometric performance with exceptional resistance to shocks. The watch is housed in a meticulously crafted 41mm case and matching bracelet, available in stainless steel or black ceramic, marrying the bold architectural design of DEFY Skyline with the mesmerizing animation of the tourbillon mechanism.

Reminiscent of a celestial core surrounded by constellations, the central kinetic element of the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon is visible through a dial aperture. Fixed to a finely mirror-polished bridge with sharp bevels, the tourbillon cage takes the form of an open four-pointed star, echoing the futuristic lines found in other DEFY references with tourbillon mechanisms. Completing one revolution every 60 seconds, the tourbillon’s endurance is matched by the case’s 10ATM (100 meters) water resistance.

The DEFY Skyline Tourbillon’s signature sunray-patterned metallic dial, adorned with an engraved starry sky pattern, has been uniquely adapted to accentuate the high-frequency tourbillon. Whether in blue for the steel version or black for the ceramic edition, the mosaic of engraved four-pointed stars radiates from the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, expanding towards the dial’s outer perimeter. Luminescent markers and hands, in rhodium-plated indices for the blue dial and rose gold-plated indices for the black dial, add a captivating contrast.

Driving the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon is the new El Primero 3630 automatic high-frequency manufacture calibre, boasting a 60-hour power reserve. The dial-side decoration, inspired by the tourbillon, features côtes de Genève stripes arranged in a sunray pattern, creating a visual spectacle that complements the open star-shaped rotor and contemporary movement architecture.

Available with a stainless steel or black ceramic bracelet, the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon offers versatility with an additional blue or black rubber strap. The case back’s quick strap-change mechanism requires no tools, allowing for easy customization.

Enthusiasts can now acquire the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon at ZENITH physical and online boutiques, along with authorized ZENITH retailers worldwide, marking a new era in the fusion of precision engineering and modern elegance.
